That outfit is perfectly appropriate... For 10th grade study hall. And for the 4th period biology class where today we are studying scarabs and dung beetles.
Can't the First Lady get an Oprah bra? Or ANY bra would help.
And under the dung beetle chain, there is another one with perhaps a White House Restroom Key on it?

Why are they all wearing black?
Is it Teddy’s wake?

To be fair, that second picture is from another event where she wore the same dress.
I don't know why she wore it again; it was ugly enough the first time. I guess she figured the bling dressed the outfit up enough for the Kennedy Center.

James Taylor always gives me the creeps — I think he looks like everybody’s favorite pedaphile.

The one in lavender is Flicka Von Stade.
“The Massachusetts Democrat, whose birthday was on Feb. 22, received the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award during an evening that included performances by Broadway stars Bernadette Peters and Brian Stokes Mitchell, opera singers Denyce Graves and Frederica von Stade, singer James Taylor, actress Lauren Bacall, comedian Bill Cosby and others. “

Looks like Michelle also wore this hideous outfit when she met the Prime Ministers wife....

That picture clears up a lot. The blue thing doesn’t look a bit like a scarab. That’s a relief.
Unfortunately, what it does look like is even worse. Apart from the color and the tapering toward the top, it looks like the business end of a certain part of the male anatomy.

She finally has an appropriate dress.
Maybe the necklace is a kids’ craft project ...?

...is that Bill Cosby?????It looks like Bill; also the guy on the right end looks like the old "Fire and Rain" singer James Taylor, but I'm not sure.

Whenever he does that big unctuous grin with the head cocked back on his neck, it always reminds me of Jim Carrey doing that move to represent a soulless phony in
The Truman Show.

I believe that is the necklace worn.Wrong. She just likes regal diamond jewelry, that's all, like a tiara around her neck. Wonder if they are real?
