his comments about Obama being brilliant. There's no objective evidence of that, one way or the other.

I think Rush meant as a politician running for office. He's apparently a mesmerizing speaker, for those who are already enthralled with him. Almost everyone I saw interviewed after one of his speeches couldn't tell you a thing he said, he just made them 'feel good'.

I can't stand his phone 'preacher cadence'. Every time I heard him speak on the campaign trail, he sounded like he was trying, and failing, to channel Dr. Martin Luther King, But having the media behind him, which he orchestrated well, put him over the top.

He just bashed Rush for defining conservatism in the normal way, not in the nuanced way that folks want to present it nowadays.
