I may have mistakenly thought you were calling the Telegraph a tabloid.
As to the lack of named sources -- in the 4+ years I've been here most of the hit pieces on President Bush never named sources and these pieces were in the NYSlimes, WaComPost, Time, NewsweAk et al, along with many broadcast smears. It never seemed to be an issue then. (Perhaps for you, but not for many here.)

If you want direct quotes, printed in a major newspaper, from named sources about the inside dirt about the President of the most powerful country on the planet, you will not get them on the Planet Earth.
