The downturn began about 11 months after the Democrats regained control of Congress. But the GOP has no one who will do battle with them over that issue.

It is funny that they would use the moniker of “the party of no.” My first thought was that if a woman says NO, and you proceed anyway, then it is RAPE. Therefore, the democraps are the party of RAPE!

“because the change-the-subject campaign they are employing is the oldest trick in Washington’s book.”

That is the key Word: CAMPAIGN!

He thinks he is still on the campaign trail. He can’t operate any other way!

Fact: Congress and specifically the House has been in the hands of the Democrats since 2006.

The “House” has more influence than any other part of government regards spending: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_elections,_2006

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_elections,_2006

So, now the Democrats with their President, their House and Senate since 2006, a majority that can ram whatever they want down the throat of any opposition since 2008, are blaming the spending, economy, and financial melt down on the Republicans. I'm sure Barney Franks also blames the mortgage crisis on the Republicans too!

While I do not agree with what happened regards spending under Bush, what many Conservatives don't understand (IMHO) is that he actually wasn't the “big spender” he was made out as. He simply had a war, stalling economy in 2001 after 911, and faced a Congress that he HAD to make compromises with.

I think the key point of the article is the “straw man”, the diversionary tactic to focus discussion anywhere but upon what the Democrats are doing to us.

We must be aware of this old trick of theirs and remain focused.

The RATS just keep buying votes with our tax dollars- it’s what they do.

I actually worry about Rush - the Obamabots are a group for whom nothing is beneath them. While the press carried on about the (complete lie) so-called “kill him” phrase that McCain backers never uttered, they sit back quietly while Obama and his Dem minions carry out a smear campaign right out in the open against Rush, Hannity etc. Of course, after what happened with Joe the Plumber I should remind myself that the press is in on this with Obama and the Dems. Free speech should exist ONLY if you are a hateful liberal - otherwise, they would like us to shut-up!

John, as I recall it, you voted in FAVOR of the first phony stimulus bill—you remember—the one over which McCain had to call off his “campaign”, lest the US fade away because winning a campaign might be viewed as more important than a purely empty political gesture! So please, don’t lecture us. We know der Fuhrer is a thug. But you’re not the classiest guy in Washington either.

They have put the blame on the GOP (and GWB), and the American sheeple endorsed that view on Nov. 4, 2008. Case closed
