British Prime Minister Says Proposition 8 Homosexual "Marriage" Ban "Unacceptable"

LONDON, March 6, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Upon returning to England following a meeting with US President Barack Obama, British PM Gordon Brown has declared as "unacceptable" the passing of Proposition 8 in California, the constitutional amendment which defines marriage as being between one man and one woman.

At a Downing Street reception yesterday, hosted by Brown for the homosexual community in honor of homosexual history month, which takes place each February in Britain, the PM said, "What I saw in America tells me what we have got to do.

"This Proposition 8 in California, this attempt to undo good that has been done, this attempt to create divorces for 18,000 people who were perfectly legally brought together in partnerships.

"This is unacceptable and this shows why we have always got to be vigilant, always got to fight homophobic behaviour and any form of discrimination.

"I want to say to you all," Brown concluded, "you have broken new ground, you have shown what can be done, you have shown how you can change opinion in our country, you have shown how the legislative process, by your pressure, can respond."

Brown praised those present for "breaking through barriers of discrimination and prejudice and homophobia" and recounted his government's efforts in promoting the homosexualist agenda: "We have legislated on inheritance tax, we have legislated on homophobia in schools, we will keep taking legislative measures to protect you. You cannot legislate love. We want to support you to have the freedom that you need to enjoy yourselves."

Richard Angell, national secretary of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) Labour, praised Gordon Brown's comments about Prop 8, according to PinkNews, a UK homosexualist news service.

"I am so proud that our Labour Prime Minister is the first world leader to come out passionately against Prop 8. Tonight's event embodied the wholesale change that has taken place over the last 12 years," Angell said.

Although the UK allows same-sex civil partnerships, the government has stopped short of calling them "marriage."

Colin Hart, Director of The Christian Institute, a nondenominational group committed to promoting Christian principles, responded to the Prime Minister's remarks, saying, "Mr Brown's comments call into question the Government's commitment to marriage as between one man and one woman."

England is Region 2 dvds and the USA has Region 1 DVDs that do not play in Region 2 players.

It is a scam created to try and prevent cross continent resales.

Tony Blair, Architect of Britain's Anti-Christian Culture, Complains Christians Are Being Marginalized

LONDON, March 6, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister of Britain and leader of the ruling Labour Party for ten years, has decried in an interview the "ludicrous" recent decisions by which the religious expression of Christians is being suppressed in Britain.

"I hope and believe that stories of people not being allowed to express their Christianity are exceptional or the result of individual ludicrous decisions. My view is that people should be proud of their Christianity and able to express it as they wish," Blair told the Church of England Newspaper. He agreed with some who have said that religious belief is in danger of being pushed to the margins in British public life.

"The real test of a religion," Blair said, "is whether in an age of aggressive secularism it has the confidence to go out and make its case by persuasion." But he admitted that conflict is "inevitable" between religious belief and the new "human rights" doctrines.

At the same time, he admitted that during his time as head of state, he considered "equality and diversity" to be more important than religion. He referred in particular to the case of the Catholic adoption agencies that were forced to close under the pressure of his government's Sexual Orientation Regulations.

"I happen to take the gay rights position," he said. "But at the time of the Catholic adoption society dispute I was also concerned that these people who were doing a fantastic job were not put out of business. You have got to try to work your way through these issues."

Blair, to the dismay of many faithful British Catholics, was received into the Catholic Church in December 2007 by Cormac Cardinal Murphy O'Connor, the archbishop of Westminster, without being required to recant his vehement and well-documented support for abortion, embryonic stem cell research and the homosexualist political movement.

Some in the homosexualist movement have called Blair's premiership the best thing to have happened in British history for their heavily anti-Christian agenda. Under Blair's leadership, Section 28 of the Local Government act, that had prevented homosexuality being promoted in British schools, was abolished. This has led to the ongoing work by the Labour government to suppress Christian and religious objections to the homosexualist doctrines in schools.

Under Blair's rule, in 2005, it became unlawful to rule out homosexual partners for adoption of children. Since then, Christians have begun to be turned away as adopters by local councils as unsuitable because of their religious beliefs. In 2003 Tony Blair's government banned "sexual orientation discrimination" in employment, a move that resulted in the suing of a Church of England diocese who had turned down an openly active homosexual man for a job as a youth worker.

After the passage of the Civil Partnership act in 2004, all the legal rights and privileges of natural marriage were extended to homosexual partners and many public authorities are erasing the word marriage from all official documents. As a result of the Civil Partnership, Christian registrars are being put under severe pressure to perform homosexual civil partnership ceremonies, contrary to their consciences.

But the crowning achievement of the Blair government on behalf of the homosexualist movement was the passage of the Sexual Orientation Regulations of the Equality act, which has resulted in the closing of many of Britain's Catholic adoption agencies.

The PM was speaking to a crowd celebrating “homosexual history month”?? Think about it...what is a great, momentus event for a homo? Now I dare you to unthink that thought.

Unfortunately, this is new “month” to celebrate is coming to a public school near you in the not-so-distant future.

I’m sure brown also feels alright about muslims having many wives and the right to beat them—the Brits are also having a hard time keeping morality an issue in their God forsaken country.

It’s fine with me if they have queer marriage in England. They have so many of them, it’s a good way to keep tabs on them. Try to keep them out of trouble (good luck on that one).
I mean, what England does “behind” its closed doors is no affair of mine. They’re already too far gone to save anyway. Just leave the USA out of it. Thanks.

England what have they done to you?!

They have out-Orwelled Orwell.

British history is rife with homosexuals in positions of wealth and authority (be they of the nobility or otherwise), but they used to occasionally nick the unpardonably gauche and clap them in gaol - Oscar Wilde probably being the best known example. The occasional queer king always gets a pass just because kings get a pass on pretty near everything, but England has long been downright protective of the homosexual aesthetes and epicureans that wealthy empires always seems to be plagued by.

From Richard the Lionhearted (the beneficiary of incredible medieval PR) to the nauseating Cambridge spies and beyond, England's "special" are, well, special. Sadly, the U.S. is catching up. "We're gay! Validate us, you mere breeders!"
