But long before arriving at the White House Michelle Obama was already putting on the style.
In a shimmering low-cut silk dress slashed to the thigh, the then 18-year-old Michelle Robinson posed with her first boyfriend at the High School Prom.

The romance ended when Michelle went off to Princeton to study sociology.

Hildy why are you so uptight with everyone who criticizes Michelle Obama? I’ve noticed it on several threads tonight.
I guess we are in the minority, Hildy. I think the prom picture is not bad at all. I like that dress much better than the bedspread she wore to the inaugural. I think her date is rather handsome. Much better looking than the O-boy. He also looks like a very nice guy now, and very kind.
Since you asked, I can't stand her. I think she has more influence on Barry than most want to admit.

I wondered because I was taking it you were defending her and I couldn’t imagine that was the case ~LOL~ but it really was a bad dress... I guess I’m showing my age...
It’s funny about that dress she wore to the inauguration. I’d like to see it close up. I think it was probably a lot prettier in person than it photographed. If you look at the close up of them dancing, the detail actually looks very nice, but the white on white detail definitely gave it a “chenille” look.
I can’t come up with a picture of my prom, but I’ll be happy to send you a picture of me now.

I guarantee you my prom date (May 1985) was not clad in satin cut up the thigh near the waist.

It looks like something her mother probably sewed from a pattern. Her family wasn’t well off, right? that’s what I mean...prom dresses are rarely known for their “timeless elegance!” LOL! You should have seen mine..it was during the gauzy HIPPY trend! God, I loved that dress...I wouldn’t be caught at a Woodstock reunion costume party wearing it now!
I have mine and I was tempted but I don’t want it to be added to Axelrod, Rahm and Shauna’s little sh*t list book.
No friends..no roommates..NOTHING...it’s is so bizarre. No records on where he lived while attending Columbia. He said he just “went from apt. to apt. and didn’t remember names of roommates” NOW, I lived in NY during that time and I was about that age, a few years older. I lived in many apartments, but I could tell you the addresses if I needed to come up with them...and who I lived with..so freaking weird.

Jebus, guys! If threads are posted where there is even the slightest hint that somebody may make fun of Michelle Obama in some way, might I suggest you refrain from clicking on them? I’ll bet your panties get so twisted up you have to have them surgically removed.
I can’t believe the slit, but I did dress wildly (short stuff, because my legs are long and that makes everything short, shorter) in my youth. I was actually going to say that at least Michelle seems to have more of a documented past and a real ex-boyfriend who actually exists.
You have that right. If I do not like a thread, heck, I know how to change to another one. It is real simple and anyone can do it.
