To those who believe that Barack Obama is a different kind of politician — more honest, more courageous — please don't examine his administration's budget.
If you do, you may sadly conclude that he resembles presidents stretching back to John Kennedy in one crucial respect. He won't tax voters for all the government services they want.
That's the main reason we've run budget deficits in 43 of the past 48 years.
Obama is a great pretender. He repeatedly says he's doing things that he isn't, trusting his powerful rhetoric to obscure the difference. He has made "responsibility" a personal theme; the budget's cover line is "A New Era of Responsibility." He says the budget begins "making the tough choices necessary to restore fiscal discipline." It doesn't.
With today's depressed economy, big deficits are unavoidable for some years. But let's assume that Obama wins re-election. By his last year, 2016, the economy presumably will have long recovered. What does his final budget look like?
Well, it runs a $637 billion deficit, equal to 3.2% of GDP, projects Obama's Office of Management and Budget. That would match Ronald Reagan's last deficit, 3.1% of GDP in 1988, so fiercely criticized by Democrats.

Come on. Reagan was an evil Republican, lacking in compassion for the downtrodden, and we’re told he didn’t do enough to fight AIDS.
Obama is a good Democrat, a good liberal, and a good radical. His deficits don’t matter. Only Republican deficits matter. Reagan’s deficits were blamed on tax cuts, which gave money to people who didn’t need it, and prevented more resources from going to fight AIDS.
Whereas Obama is investing in clean green energy and running deficits by spending money the way liberals want it spent.
Yeah, but he will keep trying!
Call the Obamedia and tell them to stop the lying! We know whose budget this really is.
Is there any way we can foil his plans? If Wall Street rallied would this only defer Obama's plans while focusing his attentions on other areas such as stealth versions of the Fairness Doctrine or Acorn reinforcements. I see where Acorn is starting to picket out in front of I believe a Baseball owners home.
Are we beginning to feel the early stages of race and class warfare? Is Obama's groups such as ACORN and other trailers, declaring war on the American tax payers? If so I believe someone needs to tell the American Taxpayer so they can be prepared to defend themselves!
The Community Organizer has diagnosed client. Induce a crisis (financial) to make change (medical care). Elementary social workery upon an entire society. Only in crises can disfunctional folks change.
Financial problems can be catalyst for change. After desired change financials can be fixed.
Politics, Democratic. Obama, benign Big Brother, knows best.

Still the average person here HAS had a better lifestyle. Soon to change.
I don’t think Obama even wants to “remake” the United States into a socialist state.
I think he wants to KILL all the white people in America, through economic chaos, freezing, starving, terrorist attack, etc.—and is willing to see a lot of black people die, too, if that’s what it takes.
Just as he is happy to see most black pregnancies end in murder, just as long as white babies are murdered, too.
No confidence in Obama to fix financials here. Just an attempt to perceive his methodology.
