Thug jailed over 50 cent attack on Digger

THE thug who bashed an elderly World War II veteran for 50c cried "f . . . king bulls . . t" yesterday as he was jailed for two years for his gutless crime.

Kristopher Cowie, 30, also punched the wall of the dock in Sutherland Local Court as a magistrate said the community was right to be outraged by his senseless attack.

The drug addict, already in jail for another violent outburst, then wrestled with court officers to touch his girlfriend, Tracey Prater, who witnessed the attack, before being led away.

Ernie Evans was 83 when Cowie repeatedly punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground, at a bus stop in Caringbah in October last year.

The court heard Cowie was angered when he asked Mr Evans for 50c and the old man told him to "get a job".

If the Aussies want to pay to imprison this scum for 2 years, I reckon that’s their bidness.

He is 30 and I doubt he will “reform”. Given his attitude, it is very probable that he will kill someone at some later point in his life. A caning everyday during his prison stay might actually change his attitude.

A COUPLE allegedly bashed an 82-year-old disabled World War II veteran for 50c in a busy street in Sydney this week. Kristopher Cowie, 30, was freed on bail by a magistrate yesterday after his alleged attack on Ernest Evans, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Mr Cowie's girlfriend Tracey Prater, 29, was bailed by police after the incident.

Mr Cowie allegedly punched Mr Evans in the head in Caringbah, Sydney, on Wednesday afternoon - allegedly hard enough to send Mr Evans flying into the gutter, covered in blood.

Mr Evans served in the army in Bougainville and for two years in the occupation forces in Japan.

At the time of the attack Mr Evans was holding his discharge papers from hospital, where he has spent eight of the past 11 weeks being treated for ailments including emphysema, a quadruple bypass, a missing kidney and a replaced hip.

He was sitting outside a charity shop while his wife Una was inside buying a war history book.

I agree. Western Civilization needs to re-introduce more effective punishments for this type of crime. The stocks, Cat-o-nine tails, the pillory etc. The type of ego maniac that would attack his betters needs public humiliation and a bleeding back. If the lawful authorities will not or cannot do it then the people should.

The best punishment would be to let the skinny little turd go head-to-head with a Digger again. Except this time make him about 30 years old just off the plane from a couple of tours in Afghanistan.
