She could have put her foot down and not appointed anyone until they came back with an acceptable nominee. That would have been within her constitutional purview.
But I guess these things aren’t worth fighting for.

That would have been within her constitutional purview. Silly me for thinking that the Governor of a state has to abide by the law. I forgot that the uber-pure crowd demands illegal actions in pursuit of their objectives, because their motives are so pure.
