Newt Gingrich Eyes 2012 Run
Susan Davis reports on politics.
Newt Gingrich is keeping an eye towards 2012, the former speaker of the House told reporters Thursday evening before a speaking engagement at Randolph Macon College.
Gingrich said he and his wife, Callista, will look seriously and well probably get our family totally engaged, including our two grandchildren, probably in January 2011, and well look seriously at whether or not we think its necessary to do it, he said, according to the Richmond Times Dispatch.
And if we think its necessary well probably do it. And if it isnt necessary we probably wont do it, he said.
At the Feb. 28 annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., Gingrich garnered 10% in a straw poll of potential 2012 candidates. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney wonfor the third straight yearwith 20%, followed by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal with 14%, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palinboth of which received 13%.

which party?
I’ll pass.
Let’s take care of 2010 first.
Newt is so yesteryear.
dear God no.
Newt is a JOKE.
Haven’t we suffered enough?
Global warming advocate.
Clearly not a conservative, so I guess he is going to try and unseat Zero for the Democrat nomination.
PING! WEAK AND LATE!
“And if we think its necessary well probably do it.”
Which means if he runs, he’ll be another Fred Thompson. If Newt really doesn’t want the job, the competition will weed him out pretty fast.
Which Newt?
The conservative one, or the global warming one?
For amnesty ( a couple years ago) or against it?
No more retreads!
That includes Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney.
Go away for the good of the party and the good of the Nation!
Please, let’s limit the draft dodging adulterer candidates to the other party.
Just what we need, another big-government Republican muddying the waters for 2012.
No. Please no.
I wouldn't bother involving your wife for a couple years, Newt - you might have divorced her by then.
Let’s just hope the Pachyderm Party has sufficient memory to not go for the over-the-hill, squishy-moderate candidate again in the next round.
What, does he think the democrats are going to run Sarah Palin?
