I hope he isn’t going to white-collar resort prison.

No, no, no. He needs to go to Federal POUND HIM IN THE A** prison.

He doesn’t have to go to jail. I just want all his money, his house, his cars, his jewelry, his watches, I want the Brycreem out of his medicine cabinet, the dust bunnies under his mattress, plus one kidney, one lung, one eye, and one of any other paired organ he can do without. That would be a good start towards restitution. Oh yeah, his wife too. She’s basically Carmella Soprano.

So he trades information and forfeiture for a cushier cell?

I’d be interested to know if any FReepers got hurt by Madoff.

I’m inclined to consider him a bit of a villainous hero. He singlehandedly did more harm to the far left’s funding apparatus than anyone in history.

I want the Brycreem (sp) out of his medicine cabinet...

Wow, I remember my grandmother putting that in my hair. Ugh!

I wonder how many millions he will be allowed to keep - and how much will be siphoned off to various “parties”? Might be a good idea to check zer0’s and his thug’s accounts, before and after any deals are made.

The sad thing is I believe the rest of his family is getting away with murder as I think they were deeply involved. The plan was for Bernie to take the fall by making it look like his son’s just happened to stumble upon his EVIL plan as to not implicate him. As well, we will never hear about how corrupt and involved the SEC was in making sure they didn’t investigate Bernie even though they knew what he was doing. We’ll never hear about the bribes SEC officials were taking from Bernie to look the other way.

I know a union electrician whose union had put some of their investments in a fund that ultimately had Madoff exposure. Their investments lost millions...

It might be nice if they forced him to fund and attend a party for all of his investors.

Bernie should be used as a human pinata.

How about the government accepts the deal and reneges, defrauding him, like he did to his clients, and sending him to prison for life.

Not imprisoning Madoff equals -300 to -500 DJ points. Not imprisoning him ratifies fraud, and I predict it will have a very negative psychological effect on the market. Please forgive me for yet another one of my neanderthal oversimplifications.

Yes, that’s the real story. The SEC and other regulatory agencies unbelievable corruption and negligence.

Will it ever be investigated? NO.

Look at the bright side - it will be the first trade he has made in years.

A life sentence which ends abruptly at the end of a rope wouldn’t be the end of the world (except for Mr. Madoff).
