Could it soon be criminal to lose money for taking on too much risk? If Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., has his way, it might. Just dont expect him to talk to the media about his role in the crisis.
Frank, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee held a press conference on March 5 to announce he would hold hearings to push for federal and local statutes to prevent a similar economic downturn but not just by imposing civil penalties, but criminal ones as well.
I am asking very firmly the attorney general, and Ive checked with the Judiciary committee and we have a cooperative effort here theyll be working on this as well, Frank said. But, were going to have a hearing with the attorney general, and the FBI, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the bank regulators, the representatives of the state attorneys general and the state securities administrators, and we have a question that they are being asked now what are your plans to prosecute those people whose irresponsible and in some cases criminal actions help bring about this crisis that will be both criminal and civil?

Why doesn’t he turn himself in? He’s a prime culprit!
I think DOJ should start with Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.
No kidding?
He’s VOLUNTEERING to go to prison?
On the other hand, maybe he’ll like it there. Lot’s of “men”.
“Frank, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee held a press conference on March 5 to announce he would hold hearings to push for federal and local statutes to prevent a similar economic downturn ”
Liberals truly are retards.
First he should arrest himself. He is responsible for this mess.
I think he has his own bar of soap.
I hope they hire the sharpest lawyers in the business and go after Barney for everything he owns, including his soiled shorts
Counter suit!
This dog that you're training may turn on you.
Fine.
He can start with himself and that pompous a&& Dodd.
Disgusting fat little perv - he should be in jail, not in government.
LLS
Wow, I think Barney is on to something here. No more recessions, no more depressions, just OUTLAW them!
Put all capitalists behind bars! That'll teach 'em!
LMAO! Is he putting HIMSELF at the top of the list?
That asshat.
He’ll have to put his old “spouse” in the slammer.
Is he going to be pwisoner number one for what he did with Fweddie Mack? Weely?
BRaney the ButtBoy is just trying to cover his butt. He is the one who demanded banks give out these sub-prime loans and passed the 1999 law to do so.
Him (cough) first.
Fwanks needs to stand trial and serve time in an all-female prison.
