Let's hope he's a Star Wars fan. President Obama gave British Prime Minister Gordon Brown a set of 25 classic American films to mark his historic visit to the White House, British media reported on Friday.

What a cheap pos
I hope this story makes its way around the WORLD. Mr. Class and Elegance to be exposed for the stupid narcissistic thug he is.
Someone put in the comments that Mr. Brown is a movie buff.
Big whoop!
When giving a gift to the head of state you don’t give them something they can pick up at the local discount store for God sake!
I am so embarassed. And apparently the Europeans are laughing at us for this too. I wonder if they are rethinking their wonder and amazement at how great Obama is and how he will bring class to the White House.
Finally, Brown gave Obama a first edition of Martin Gilbert's seven-volume biography of Winston Churchill, whose World War II partnership with President Franklin Roosevelt symbolized the U.S.-Anglo alliance.
I wonder if he will accidentially send the volumes back to the UK. After all, we don't need anything written about old dead white men.
Exactly!
I wonder if that is what he gave him.
Seriously, it is a 25 DVD set and it is classic american movies.
A $20 damn gift and he gets a pen holder made from the wood of a historic ship?
I am still totally embarassed by this jackass. I just wonder how his zombies will tell themselves something positive about this.
The idiot probably didn’t even give a proper set that is region coded to play on British DVD players.
I almost made that mistake when I was in London and wanted to buy some videos from the Imperial War Museum.
Rome burns while Nero fiddles. Obama ought to be ashamed of himself but we all know that that is constitutionally impossible for him.
I think he is trying to educate 0 with the books about Winston Churchill, after realizing the returned bust meant Obama had absolutely no idea of the symbolism attached to it.
Did Obama include the special strings so Brown can hang some from his rear view mirror? That would have been especially thoughtful.
DVDs are encoded with a region code. The USA is part of region code 1, whereas Europe (including the UK) is region code 2. The commercial DVD player specification requires that a player to be sold in a given place not play discs encoded for a different region. So chances are, the Prime Minister won’t be able to play the DVDs when he gets home (unless he can find a region free DVD player).
Gordon Brown turns down George Bushs gift
July 23rd, 2008 - 5:43 pm ICT by ANI
Leather jacket gifted to him by US President George W Bush.
Bush presented the bomber jacket to Brown during their first talks as fellow leaders. The jacket is not only emblazoned with the presidential logo, but also features Browns name on it.
However, Browns decision to reject the personalised gift was in tune with the list of gifts received by ministers on their official meetings.
The list of gifts received by government ministers in the last year, which they are required to declare if the value is estimated at more than 140 pounds, shows that Brown purposely did not exercise the option of keeping the presidential present.
By rule, ministers can only retain gifts received in the course of their ministerial duties if they recompense the public purse to the appropriate value.
The gift of a leather holdall / clothing given to Brown by George Bush on his first trip to the United States as Prime Minister is said to have been held by the department, reports The Telegraph.
Unlike former Britain Prime Minister Tony Blair, who preferred to purchase all the presidential gifts, Brown did not accept a single gift, turning down, among other items, a commemorative coin from the prime minister of Ethiopia, a stone bowl from the president of Afghanistan and a rug from the president of Pakistan.
In fact, the new Prime Minister even passed the perishable items given to him on to charity or into the Governments wine cellars. They included a hamper from the Sultan of Brunei and wine from the French president. (ANI)
I wonder if the selection included “Gone With the Wind?”
They are NOT compatible.
The gift, like Obama and his ideas, are worthless.
*LOL*
