Murkowski’s fight with the Alaska Judicial Council was over Superior Court judges. The Council submits nominations for them too. But you’re right, the article didn’t define that.
I'm sure this is the best they can get for the little they pay. If the 'paper' is around a year from now I'll be surprised.
