Sounds more like he finally figured out that he didn’t want to be associated with that “O”batross.
In his place, Kathleen Sebelius has suggested George Tiller. [joke]
Thanks for posting this thread. It’s much better than the other six already posted.
Do you get the impression that these guys are fleeing like rats from a sinking ship?
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN's chief medical correspondent, has withdrawn his name from consideration as surgeon general of the United StatesSee, this wouldn't have happened if people had come to their senses and elected Hillary. This Gupta guy would be running a convenience store in Arkansas.
Gupta seems like a decent guy who is wise not to get involved with Obama...
My understanding is that he didn’t owe enough in back taxes to qualify for a cabinet level position.
Probably saw his savings chopped in half over the past year and decided he better get back to real work as a neurosurgeon.
i am guessing it wasn’t tax problems

Excellent video from 2007, showing Gupta challenging Moore on healthcare. Gupta says national healthcare is not free, but paid for with high taxes, Medicare is going broke, and the best care in the world is in the US and waits are long in countries with national health care. I think he backed out because he has some sense.

Gupta is a smart and highly accomplished doctor, at the very top of his field — the pinnacle of success — and he’s rewarded accordingly. Why go into government? Only mediocrities, most of whom couldn’t cut it in the private sector, go into government.
