Unfortunately, we are saddled with a communist sympathizer in the White House. I don't know whether or not he's an actual card carrying commie, but he's definitely an America-hating, anti-capitalist Marxist leftist who thinks communism is the way to go. Now I remember when America used to fight against communism. It wasn't that long ago. Many of us on FR are veterans of wars against communism and some of us believe that American citizens who are communists are the enemy within, ie, the domestic enemy we've sworn to defend against. American citizen? hmmmm... that may be a loophole for Obama.
At any rate, the oath is to defend our constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. I can imagine that this places an enormous strain on our Secret Service agents. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Obama is an enemy of the constitution. So should the SS defend the constitution or defend the anti-constitution commie?
So now comes the problem. If you feel it's your duty to call Obama a traitor and use salty language in your proposed resolution, ie, suggest the commie be keelhauled, walked off the plank, run up the yardarm, tarred and feathered and run out of Dodge, etc, etc, etc, you may be facing a visit from your friendly Secret Service. And even though your visiting agent may agree politically, and may take his oath to the constitution seriously, he's still sworn to protect the officeholder and it's his duty to take all threats seriously. And that may include serving me with a subpoena to turn over your IP address. Now I'm duty bound to protect your privacy to the best of my ability, but I cannot defend against stupidity.
Best advice I can give is to keep it to yourself. Don't post anything that may embarrass you later, or end you up in the slammer.
Ever vigilant.
Keep your powder dry.
Do you mean “coprolaliac?”
Does this mean that you’ve been getting requests to find out who we are?
Isn’t this voter intimidation and harrassment?
This sucks! We need Obama out.
FReepers: Don't miss this one!
Here's another BTTT
Thanks for the heads-up.
Reminds me of a post from last fall, which I’ll paraphrase:
All the rhetoric from the democrat party makes me want to say the “N” word. No, not that N-word... the word that describes those guys with the brown shirts and little lightning bolts on their collars.
I cannot defend against stupidityWell, it could be worse, you could be an admin at Democratic Underground. I'm not sure that Superman could defend that level of stupidity.
“Very good question. I have certainly seen more than few comments that have crossed the line.”
I’ve only seen a few that cross the line, and by that I mean less than 5. As in many situations, I attribute some of these things to lack of diligence, frustration and, yes, stupidity.
I’m more concerned with the nature of “what is a threat” and how might that be interpreted. At some point I believe the bar will be moved down and that ranting and railing against policies will become a “direct threat”, if they already are not.
While I’m not concerned that FR would simply hand over IP information I would be anxious that such details and profile information are being gathered in other ways and I would guess that they can be.
The way that our government is run right now, I simply assume that their is an “enemies list” and that it is not just for the proverbial “big fish”.
Just wait until you have to pray to him.
JR, your caution is timely and well taken.
I get a bit reckless from time to time, but if I posted some of my complete thoughts, I would already be locked up.
Generally, I don’t wish harm to anyone, I just want the insanity to stop, the theft and corruption to come to an end, and freedom for my children and grandchildren.
I will respect and try to comply with your guidance, but because of my overwhelming love of liberty and country, I intend to... ( deleted by Obama’s Socialist Reeducation and Propaganda Team ).
bttt
I think I’m normally safe (I don’t want anything to happen to him—I just want his policies to fail to pass and I want him to be a one term president, and I want him to stop destroying our economy). However, it seems that everyone was allowed to say anything in the world about President Bush and rarely did anyone bat an eye. I wonder if this attitude comes from the top? Regardless of anything I ever disagreed with him about, the Bush family is very classy and tend to let criticism roll off their backs like water off a duck.
It’s in 2 sidebars - exactly where he posted it.
Thanks for the ping. I have been reading it from the beginning post and I think I’m up to 150. Too good to skip anything.
It does have me wondering, though...
Would the SS, in its infinite wisdom, consider usage of a (reasonably) common acronym such as "ESAD"* to be an actionable threat against His ODumbness?
*ESAD = "Eat s*** and die". It does contain the word "die" in it, after all, but only an imbecile could take that statement as a literal command or plan of action. But then again, long experience has demonstrated time and again that the Federal Government is filled beyond overflowing with imbeciles, so I wouldn't put it past them.
Thanks for the heads up, nutmeg. I don’t worry about what I say because I never threaten to do harm to anyone.
So basically, with 0, we’ll get treated the same way we would be if we had made such statements about Jorge Boosh or Triple Slick XXX42 when they were in office.
fwiw, BHO is possibly the BEST THING that's happened in decades to the DIXIE LIBERTY movement.
