There are a couple things going on here. You quote correctly: "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil". However, the fact remains that many people (I'm not talking about Rand yet) have a mis-statement of that quote in their head. I've heard many people say "money is the root of all evil". Let's not focus on how they don't know their Bible so well. Instead, let's focus on their inner thought process: Money is a bad thing. A lot of people go through life thinking that.

So Rand used that faulty thinking as a jumping off point. The Money Speech is a brilliant summation of the only moral method of exchange between rational people.

Rand was not a Christian believer, and I have no idea if she understood the accurate quote from the Bible. But I'm pretty sure she was not trying to discuss that topic at all. She was addressing the thought processes of the man in the street.

Look, I agree money has been demonized unfairly and that is a problem.

Money is...money, just a tool an instrument to get things done in a consistent and efficient manner.

Just like the nut-bags on the left enshrine Diversity as the solution to all of our problems, so does Rand go a little nutty with the "money is the root of all good" line.

I don't expect Rand the Objectivist to know or care about the Bible and as for "moral?" Please...Libertarians and Objectivists are amoral at best.

All the being said, I like money a lot. I could use more if it.
