Perhaps youve seen the video of the King County, Wash., sheriffs deputy dishing out a bit of the rough stuff on a 15-year-old girl. At 3:45 a.m. last November 29, the girl was arrested while riding as a passenger in her parents car, which had been reported stolen to police. The video shows Deputy Paul Schene, 31, and a second deputy escorting the girl into a holding cell. The girl, apparently at Schenes request, takes off one of her shoes and, apparently not at Schenes request, kicks it at him, striking him in the shin with it.
It seems fair to say that at that point Deputy Schene lost it. The video shows him charging into the cell and striking the girl, then shoving her against the back wall before throwing her to the floor. After handcuffing her, he picks her up and takes her out of the cell while holding her by the hair. A detective who later reviewed the video reported the incident, and Schene was charged in King County District Court with misdemeanor assault. He has pleaded not guilty.
Ugly stuff, to be sure. But I suspect Im not the only cop who has watched that video and thought, There but for the grace of God go I. ...

I saw the video. The response of the sh#tbird cop was FAR in excess of what the girl did. The residents of King County are going to be paying for this girl’s education at an Ivy League university.
I’m sure his union will defend him.

Is there supposed to be a video there?
I guess we probably need police who can control themselves better but I’m not crying for the little girl. Just give him paid leave for a month and bring him back in. Set him lose on some MS13 thugs.
Thanks for the warning...another incomplete thread? I’ll move on.
All three of ours have grown up to be beautiful, conservative young ladies.
Don’t blame you....these cop threads tend to get nasty anyway
My only question in that is that while we know he has the stuff to slug it out with a 15 year-old girl but do we know he has the stuff to slug it out with MS13 thugs? I don't mean to question police in general just this one cop in particular.
Alas, that does not happen. The girl is obviously made of iron sinews and steel skin and she rebounds nicely.
A second cop lurches into the room at only 25 MPH and he immediately assists the first in bringing down this little Supergirl and putting cuffs on her.
Leaping from one frame to the next it appears the officer punches the Supergirl repeatedly, but to no effect.
Her guts should have exploded at the first blow, and her bones should have scattered at the second.
We've seen the same phenomenon with the "tossed baby" deal. There the replay rate made it look like the baby sitter was bouncing the baby like a basketball.
Folks, don't let the inadequacies of a slow scan rate security system fool you into thinking humans can actually do these feats of strength and dexterity.
And the residents of the State of Washington will be paying for the police officer's incarceration at the State Prison.
Do you want this cop dating your daughter?
A years supply of weed for her.
WOW! O-:
Didn’t he know this was all on video? He beat the hell out of that girl and because she kicked a shoe at him? What’s he like with his girlfriend/wife, I wonder?
It was very easy to create a litany of ribald responses to your query based on the question of "how fast is the daughter".
I'm truly sorry that you can't understand that this video is not being replaced at a speed that reflects REALITY.
Your life will be one continual surprise every day.
RE: “I saw the video. Typical of the genre, it’s not being played back at its original scan rate.”
Exactly. I bet if it was played properly, we’d see he was comforting & helping her.
I'm surprised he didn't lose half his skin on that slide (which was the thought that led me to realize "Hey, they're running this thing too fast").
