What Obama is doing is trying to reverse the damage done by 8 years of wanton and willful destruction of the American economy. I wish I could say it was accidental, a unique event that hasn't been seen before, but that simply isn't true. The Bush policies come directly from the economic teachings of Milton Friedman, a man responsible for more death and destruction around the world than most people can imagine. If you take a look at Friedman's ideas, which are elimination of government regulations on business, elimination of taxes on business, elimination of all international trade rules, and elimination of social programs, you will see that this is exactly what repubs have been pushing for almost 30 years. They do so fully knowing that in every single other case where these policies have been put in place, economic and social disaster has followed. This is exactly what they want, as Friedman was completely against the programs of the New Deal, such as social security and unemployment payments, and didn't believe in the minimum wage. South America, Central America and Asia were all laboratories for his experiment, and in every single case, the results were nothing short of catastrophic and apocalyptic. The formerly healthy, growing economies were devastated, unemployment skyrocketed, and a few people went from being very wealthy to super rich. They did this by borrowing money to buy companies that had been formerly state-owned, and when they drove them into the ground, they were bailed out by the taxpayers. Does any of this sound familiar?
The repubs wanted to destroy this country's economy to make their rich supporters even richer, and create an economic crisis that would give them a pretext to drastically cut or eliminate the social programs they hate so much. They came so very close. If the economy had waited another 8 weeks before imploding, it is possible that McCain would have been elected, and we could have enjoyed the spectacle of 20% unemployment, the end of government-sponsored healthcare like medicaid and medicare, and the elimination of unemployment insurance. When the inevitable social unrest caused by such policies erupted, they had the answer for that too, the KBR detention camps that have been built around the country during the Bush administration, and the legal policies endorsed by the Justice Department that we saw revealed yesterday. Think it couldn't happen? It DID happen in places like Chile, Argentina, Indonesia, Uruguay and other places, always following the same script.
Open your eyes, open your mind, and realize that the only dishonest person here is you. You are intellectually dishonest, and seem to take great pride in your ignorance.

“Open your mind...” and they will surely fill it with s**t.
Geez. Hope you take a shower after visiting these libtard sites.
the economy is worse under O already than after 9-11 and nothing he is proposing is going to help it.
Ban me now. I disagree that Bush was this bad.
Under the Obama regime these have been renamed "Public schools".
Funny. In the last 8 years I didn’t experience any elimination of taxes on business.
Reading this stuff reminds me of the scene where Ace Ventura first sees the inside of Ray Finkle’s boyhood room.
Ping of interest.
The world’s largest communist country is on the road to capitalism (China) the largest capitalist country is on the road to communism. If I didn’t know better I swear I’ve passed out after drinking bong water, and this is just a bad dream.
Sad, sad little marxists.
This is a very peculiar post; there must be something missing or it is too subtle for the likes of me.
“When your neighbor loses his job, it’s a recession. When you lose yours, it’s a Depression.”
We’re headed there fast and it’s so simple to turn around if we could only immobilize the communists in BOTH parties! Massive tax cuts would stimulate the economy like gangbusters.
I’ve been trying to lose weight. Believe me, a waist is a far more terrible thing to mind.
But it feels so good...
Bong water? Oh, some of them used water, no? Or all of them?
What the hay? I saw this in the first paragraph to the link.
Say it aint so!
“....a waist is a far more terrible thing to mind.”
I like that. I will use it, consider it stolen.
