Rush to the Wrong Choice
Washington Post ^ | 3/4/09 | Kathleen Parker

Posted on 03/04/2009 6:52:06 AM PST by steve-b

It's been a win-win the past few days for Democratic and Republican loyalists, but what about the rest of us?

You know. Americans who either don't think that (a) spending nonexistent trillions is quite the way to proceed in an economic crisis, or that (b) Rush Limbaugh is the messiah....

Might there be a smallish strait between these gulfs where the storm-weary could rest their oars? (Not to go overboard on the metaphor, ahem.)

Don't even think about it. Michael Steele, new Republican National Committee chairman, tried to inject a little calm into the discussion and quickly learned that criticizing the omniscient one is an act of treason punishable by public humiliation. After Steele said in a weekend interview that Rush is sometimes "ugly" and "incendiary," the talk-show host administered a 20-minute, on-air spanking and let Steele know that he, El Rushbo, is the talking-head pundit around here....

I do not read this woman. She is in no way conservative. She went from an obscure blog to the Washington Post bashing conservatives.

Why are conservatives allowing liberals to dictate a “Rush” controversy of ideology?

DO NOT READ Kathleen Parker — she showed her true colors in her PMSing diatribes against Sarah Palin. She’s NO Conservative.

Oh Goodie.

I was breathlessly waiting For Ms. Parker - RINO Broad - to weigh in with her support of Steele.

Whenever you see RINO’S feebly attempting to stab Rush in the back - well you know things are sadly status qyo.

Where Limbaugh wants to slash and burn, Romney wants to build and repair. Where Limbaugh wants Obama to fail, Romney wants "our country to succeed, no matter who's in power. We want America to be prosperous and secure, regardless of who gets the credit ..... in good times and bad, the interests of this great nation come first."

One man is an entertaining, rabble-rousing political commentator. The other is a temperate, optimistic leader with a business record of red-to-black successes. No one should confuse the two, though Obama surely hopes everyone will.

Gag me with a spoon.

So basically, you want to just curl up in a little ball and whine about Obama's spending but otherwise do nothing about it.

RINO to the core.

Romney is pretty harsh against this spending as well.

But we see why Parker is so anti-Palin. She is the worst kind of Romneyite - those who trash conservatives. There are plenty of good, team player Romneyites, but Parker is not one of them.

What a twit this woman is. If she actually listened to Rush and what he has been saying it's exactly the same thing. Obama failing means the COUNTRY WINS.

Do people need to be beaten with a stick to get it? It certainly seems so.

Rahm Emanuel, anointed Limbaugh as leader of the GOP, calling him the "voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party."

Politics, like nature abhor a vaccum and will seek to fill it. There is no GOP leadership and it's truly left to Rush to be the captain at the helm of the good ship GOP Party.

I had high hopes for Steele but in his wishy washy response(For Rush before his was against him, then for him again)makes Steele look as an weak, "Steppin' Fetchit" house negro figurehead.

Way to attract the "Uncle Tom" vote.

I think I’m going to make a RINO mad today and order the Limbaugh Letter. I’m already a 24/7 subsriber.

Is Kathleen Parker merely dense, or is she actually evil? Her characterization of Limbaugh's statements is so laughably and foolishly wrong (yet precisely in line with DemoCommie agit-prop) that it's hard to come to any reasonable conclusion other than that she is a foot-soldier in the service of the enemy...

Earth to Kathleen Parker - take a course or two in remedial English comprehension before you dare place your fingers on your keyboard...

The reason the Demoncrats are able to "credibly" float the idea that Rush is the leader of the Republican party is that there is no identifiable leader in the Republican party who is advancing any counter agenda to O's plans.

Nature abhors a vacuum and the Democrats are filling the vacuum of leadership in the Republican party with someone they view as an easy mark to knock down.

I believe their confidence, or hubris, though, is their fatal flaw. In the paraphrased words of Obi Wan Kenobi :-), their attempt to demonize Rush Limbaugh will make him stronger than they ever imagined. Why? Bbecause their drawing attention to him will increase his audience and the net result will be more conservatives.

How, exactly, is calling Rush ugly and incendiary injecting “a little calm into the discussion?”

What does it say about ME, an avid listener and supporter? Since I agree with Rush, am I ugly, too? Way to get me to donate, bozo....

"Broad" is too good a term for Parker. "Broad" use to mean a plain but strong woman who stood his ground, come what may. An outspoken but generally reliable woman.

Parker is a political barfly who will change her opinions to whoever willing to buy her a drink.

A female not to be taken seriously. The "valley girl" of politics. A Huffington wannabe.

My guess is she never listens to what Rush says, only to what is reported that he said.
