Oklahoma City -- A local church hosted a demonstration of peace and love to counter the demonstration put on by members of the Westboro Baptist Church held at Moore High School.
Westboro members protested in Oklahoma on Monday for various reasons.
Members of Beth Haven Baptist Church held a prayer vigil at the same time the Westboro demonstration took place.
Pastor Rick Carter says they wanted to spread what they feel is the true message of the bible. He says God doesn't likes sinners, but that he has nothing but love, not hate, for people.
Carter also says many people abuse religion and the name Baptist.
"These people over there, they don't represent what Christians believe and we want to make sure our community gets the right message of what the Bible really teaches.
As a resident and a parent, I would like to thank all who came to town and stood up to these misguided bullies.

Westboro isn’t even a church...it’s a family law firm. they bait people into hitting them, then they sue.
Glad to hear many supporters showed up to counter the protest! I can’t understand why these wackos were permitted to protest near a high school in the first place.
Still have trouble with Churches, ESPECIALLY the BAPTISTS, that still call Westboro a Church.. From my many years of study of religion, WESTBORO can only be called one thing... The WESTBORO CULT!!!

There was a reporter at a Topeka newspaper that did a great amount of work on Phelps, but was not allowed to publish her story, for some reason.
I think it was for the Topeka Capital Journal.
Anyway, Fred, himself, is the victim of abuse and also abused his children.
This will come as no shock to anyone who understands these issues.
The “Patriot Guard” consists of a bunch of volunteer Vets in the area that escort fallen military and try to keep between the family and the Phelps sickos.
By the way, Phelps carried around signs that said “Fag Dole” when Dole was running for President.
Phelps picketed Jerry Falwell’s funeral.
Phelps is a Democrat who once ran for Governor.

westboro should be ignored. they don’t deserve any extra publicity.
I am waiting for the “Obama in Hell” sign that will get their heads cracked. Eventually the Phelps Clan will try something like that. They have to keep pushing buttons.

They got kicked out of the UK and I heard a story about them from a Dutch radio station but couldn’t understand the language.
