Like Reagan, Obama Means What He Says

Sometimes, it turns out, politicians can be taken at their word.

More than a year ago, while campaigning for the Democratic nomination, Barack Obama told the Reno Gazette-Journal that "Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not, and in a way that Bill Clinton did not."

Reagan, he said, "put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it."

The implication was that Obama, if elected, would be no less ambitious.

Just six weeks into his term, Obama has opened his bid to redraw the boundaries of our politics and expand the realm of the possible. Reagan shifted our whole political spectrum to the right, and now Obama intends to shift it to the left.

Like Reagan, Obama senses that the nation is already moving in his direction, well ahead of its political leadership.

You'd think that Republicans who claim to idolize Reagan would recognize what's happening, but they seem oblivious.

Hell, monsters like Lenin, Stalin, Hitler and Mao put their countries on “fundamentally different paths” too. There is a path toward good and a path toward evil, we are now on the latter.

Obama is FDR-like, LBJ-like, NOT Reagan-like.

And Eugene Robinson is an idiot.

More of the exact opposite. Reagan was as close as we'll see to a leader who follows the letter and the spirit of Christ's words in the Bible. Obama is as close as I ever hope to get to seeing the anti-Christ, a dictator who daily violates the letter and the spirit of Christ's words in the Bible. With apologies to a long-time Freeper, I think of Obama as "664", falling just short of the Beast.

I do wish people would NOT mention Ronald Reagan and the current president in the same story as if the two had something in common, other than the White House.

Did The Idiot MEAN what he said when he said he'd take public funding for his campaign.

No, he never meant it. He flat out lied.

Saying Reagan and Obama in the same title should be a sin.

Two of those monsters of evil you listed started out there lives as Catholics and obviously chose to follow the creature instead of their Creator.

Big trouble for their eternal soul.

I think Obama has a good shot at winning. Republicans are weak, cowardly and as the 1994 and 2000 elections prove are unwilling to do what they say they will do.

People are waking up and realizing this President is our worst nightmare. It’s not because he has a plan that we disagree with. It’s because he has no idea of what he’s doing. He doesn’t know what it means to be a responsible and accountable leader. He has been reckless in everything he has done with no preponderance or understanding (or concern, not sure which one) of the consequences of his actions. His arrogant demeanor is the facade of a very immature delusional person. His promise of transparency and bi-partisanship were only hollow words, similar to his responses to every negative issue that confronted him in his candidacy to be President. Thanks to the totally irresponsible and biased media, he has been given a free pass. Consequently the uninformed and “deniers” of reality bought into the ridicules notion of an inexperienced, lawyer activist to become President of the most powerful country in the world based on the strategy of hope and change.
We need to push back very hard on this administration and their reckless policies. It’s time to practice our civic duty, get organized and get these “pretenders” out of office. If I sound angry, it’s because I am. I can’t sit back and accept the fact that the position of the President of The United States is being degraded and abused to the levels we are witnessing. As far as I’m concerned, there is no more waiting to see what happens. BHO has clearly shown his intentions and it’s time to let him know how we feel about it. Speak out, call your representatives and send money to the RNC, now and ongoing until we win the honor of the Presidency back.

The public, yearning for Obama’s changes as described in the latter part of the article, are now witnessing what for them are the undesirable, unintended consequences of the Obama policies. The problem with Obama is, these consequences are neither unintended nor undesirable. With the help of the fawning media, he will try to lay the blame of any hurt on the Republicans.

He is our worst nightmare.

Because he does know exactly what he’s doing.

He is running a stealth jihad on America.

(I only used the word stealth because he hasn’t resorted to bloodshed...yet.)

All this hope & change & logos & infomercial pressers are just to pacify the masses and make us all feel good so we don’t read between the lines.
