Office of the Governor of the State of Alaska ^ | 02-25-09 | Gov. Sarah Palin

Posted on 03/03/2009 6:01:22 PM PST by euram

WHEREAS, trisomy is the presence, within a person’s cells, of an extra set of chromosomes instead of the regular two.

WHEREAS, the most common trisomies in newborns are trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), and trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome).

WHEREAS, trisomy pregnancies can present unusual complications and can be more at-risk than non-trisomy pregnancies.

WHEREAS, the life of every child is precious, regardless of the number of chromosomes he or she may possess.

WHEREAS, parents should take advantage of the local support groups and online communities that offer education, encouragement, and counseling for those managing trisomy pregnancies or raising trisomy-affected children.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sarah Palin, Governor of the state of Alaska, do hereby proclaim March 2009 as: Trisomy Awareness Month

in Alaska, and give full support to raising awareness and education for all forms of trisomy, as well as efforts supporting families experiencing trisomy, and to helping people with developmental disabilities achieve their full potential.

Dated: February 25, 2009

They will probably hammer her for having the child, screaming about the cruelty of having a Downs Syndrome baby.
Then they will scream at her for not daring to have an abortion because it is PC.

Silence. They are not going to talk about her unless it is negative.

They will make it a negative one way or the other. I don’t think they will be able to resist. I think they are afraid of her and want to destroy her as quickly as possible to ease their sick little minds.

I love Sarah Palin. She makes me feel young, like I did in the days of Reagan. She thinks human life is good, which makes her the opposite of our Community-Organizer-in-Chief.

If it’s not a story about her supposedly spending too much money on something owing taxes or something about Bristol they simply will not talk about her.

I guess they think she’ll just go away if they stop paying attention to her.

Exactly. Ignore her and when they do talk about her it will be all negative all the time.

My son died of Trisomy 13 back in 1995. I carried full term, and yes, it was a live birth. Because he had no brain function, it was as if he were sleeping. He died about 90 minutes after he was born.

When my doctor told me that my son had T-13 prior to his birth, I asked him how many women he has to tell that their child has this and that the end result is death. He said not very many and if it were more than a few, he said he would not be practicing. It gets that emotional.

I couldn’t do it either in your doctors shoes.

I still expect the media will bash Palin for this somehow.

John McCain did us a favor by selecting Palin. Palin, if she chooses to run in 2012, will be battle-hardened and tested. She’ll have the same gubernatorial experience that GWB had.

I learned during this time that there were more nurses and doctors who were pro-life than I thought. I did not meet one who said they were pro-abortion.
