CONCORD, N.H. (AP) For small-government die-hards, the $787 billion economic stimulus bill recently passed by Congress isn't a life saver. It's the last straw.
Lawmakers across the country are sponsoring resolutions asserting state sovereignty, in effect the right to ignore any federal laws or policies they deem unconstitutional including the stimulus bill, the No Child Left Behind Act and any new assault rifle ban.
The New Hampshire House is scheduled to vote on Republican state Rep. Daniel Itse's resolution Wednesday. Supporters are planning a rally at the State House before the vote.

Nice day for a rebellion, don’t cha think? I LOVE IT!
State’s Rights!!
Good for him. I wish he was my rep. Mine is a slimey Democrat.
"When you think about this claim that if a state believes a federal law is unconstitutional it can just ignore it, then I presume if a county believed a state law was unconstitutional it could just ignore it," Hesse said. "Really what's implicit in this is an unwillingness to recognize a lawful authority."
Typical irrational liberal professor - he misses the point. It's not an unwillingness to recognize a lawful authority, it's a willingness to recognize unlawful authority. Anything that limits government violations of the 9th and 10th Amendments (and the others, especially the 1st and 2nd) is good. What he calls stripping "authority from all levels of government" is what working Americans call restoring freedom to individuals.
It's a lovely idea, but there's one little catch. Most of these abominations come with major financial strings attached. The federal government has already collected the money from the citizens of the states via income taxes, and only gives a portion back when these stupid mandates are complied with. Sure the states can say "We won't comply", but the federal government's response is then "Ha, ha, fine, we'll just keep ALL your money then".
If this was implemented alot of things change, collection would probably be one of them. If you place strings on the money, we can just not donate. The states have the power if they chose to implement it.

Exactly we fought a Revolution for this liberty once (and some would say twice-in the “civil war”), He just doesn’t like the idea that We are free-Americans and can ignore laws that are unconstitution (that our rulers at times *shock sometimes disobey their oaths).
**New Hampshire Freepers** Would one or more of you go to your FR New Hampshire page and post a link to this thread to help gather support for this effort. There is a vote scheduled TOMORROW in the NH State House on their resolution affirming their 10th Amendment rights.
The rest of you say a prayer(or otherwise think happy thoughts) for NH's legislators. It's the least we can do...

Please ~ping~ me to articles relating to the 10th Amendment/States Rights so I can employ the pinger.
I continue to add names to the ping list as I run across others participating on similar threads. If you want off the list just say so.

Don’t take your shoes off, you don’t fly. Pretty sad
Those TSA characters are pretty hateful especially to my kids. I stood in their blowback machine (the one that sprays air looking for explosions or drugs) and just looked at the sheep being lead to slauder. Taking your shoes off is not the answer to the problem. If you are so afraid of flying look at overcomeing your fear before you fly.
Personally I’m a NO FEAR kind of person. Sadly those that still listen to the lamestream media are going to wake up abruptly.
There is a vote scheduled TOMORROW in the NH State House on their resolution affirming 10th Amendment rights.
great news, may the 10th amendment prevail,
thanks for the ping
I didn’t have any fear either until 9/11 happened. Then I got worried whenever I got on a plane.
Thing is though, the TSA’s rules aren’t optional.
How’d I miss this. I thought this was shelved. Anyone know what time the vote is?
I had a talk with a legislator in my state who filed the state sovereignty bill here. When he was drawing up his bill, there was only one other bill. I checked Monday and it was 31 states. For instance, Alaska just filed one a couple of days ago.
