Sen. John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, says his party has lost two elections in a row - "big-time'' - and it's time to rally anew.
On the spat that radio's Rush Limbaugh has stirred with President Barack Obama, prompting the White House and Democratic Party alike to assert that radio's "Rush'' is the new voice of the GOP, McCain had this to say on the FOX News Channel today:
"I think there's a lot of voices in our party. Rush Limbaugh is one of them,'' McCain told Neil Cavuto on FOX's Your World with Cavuto. "(RNC Chairman) Michael Steele, I respect enormously, the governors, (Tim) Pawlenty (of Minnesota) and (Bobby) Jindal (of Louisiana) and (Sarah) Palin (of Alaska, McCain's running mate in '08) and others.
"I appreciate all of them, and, for us to get into some kind of contest, when we've just lost an election, about who does what, let's all work together as a party and get our party back on track,'' McCain said. "We just lost two elections in a row, big-time. Let's get together.
"I think Mr. Limbaugh speaks for a number of Republicans,'' McCain says of the conservative commentator with an estimated radio audience of 12 million. "I think I speak a little for the Republican Party...Let's all speak for the things we value and the things we believe in."

McCain’s chance to become the leader was around October 2008. It’s a little late now.
I agree with Mac. Maybe he should go discuss it with that loser-RINO-moderate-wuss that the wusspublicans ran for president. Anyone remember that clown’s name?
Love your tagline!
Hey Juan McCain, juust who led the GOP to that ‘big time’ loss??
McCain, the biggest thing you can do for America is just shut up and go home. You have caused enough damge. When back stabbing liberal jackasses like you and your good buddy Arlen Specter are gone, then we can rebuild the Republican Party.
No He took a dive and lost the whole thing for us. He can just sit down and be quiet.
McCain is a loser NOW.
McCain did indeed play the POW card a lot during the latest election. But that sure as hell doesn’t mean he was a loser THEN, even taking away his POW experience.
McCain as a young man served his country. Yes, he was far, FAR from perfect, but the path he took was, while also rewarding with it’s flyboy image, full of risk - as he certainly found out, and lived to tell about.
If it were JFKerry we were talking about, who was a blowhard student politician before the war, served for a while - at first imperfectly but then clearly abusing the Purple Heart system, and then immediately after getting out of Vietnam was an outright traitor, well then yes, there’s a loser, a jerk of epic magnitude.
But McCain? A jerk, now yes (probably back then, too). Now a backstabber, yes. Now a foe of the first amendment, yes. Now a foe to American territorial soveirngty, yes. Now a stinking turd of a presidential candidate, yes.
But back then, as a young man? A flyboy with a party attitude, yes. A poor student, yes. But a loser? No. Never. He put his ass on the line for freedom, and I’ll always salute the YOUNGER John McCain for doing that.
I will go one further, when you werent apologizing for odumbos racist preacher you were hindering Gov Palin, I voted for him but he really has made me sick and a little ashamed
McCain’s military service is not the issue. A poor choice of pics on my part, but it was the only one I could find quickly.
McCain: GOP lost ‘big-time,’ must rally
Your completely wrong John.
McCain you and Dole lost “big-time,”, the GOP must now clean up THE mess.

No sh*t, Sherlock. They need to rally your ass, and several others, out of the party. BIG TIME.
LOL. Juan is trying to be a Conservative?
RINOs lost bigtime, plain & simple.
Perfect!
Yes... a little....VERY LITTLE!!
Will the good people of Arizona please toss this guy out?
Yes he was a POW for a number of years. The people of Arizona have honored Mr. McCain by blessing him with one of their two seat in the US Senate for many years. Now it is time for him to retire and enjoy the fruits of his work - What he fought against and legislated for - Socialism/communism.
Pathetic MDS ping.
We must rally around a conservative who won't sell our principles down the river for political power and Washington prestige...
