OKLAHOMA CITY Private employers would be prohibited from asking applicants if they own a gun by Senate Bill 793, by state Sen. Anthony Sykes, R-Moore. The bill passed on a vote of 43-1 in the state Senate on Monday.
An employer who asks an applicant for any information about whether the applicant owns or possesses a firearm would be subject to a $1,000 fine and/or 90 days in the county jail.
So an employer could be put in jail if they ask during the interview process? asked state Sen. Tom Adelson, D-Tulsa, who cast the lone vote against the measure. Is there an exception if a person has a history of crime, and theyre trying to assess if that person is a threat to other employees? If someone has 20 guns, Im not sure if I want to hire that person.
State Sen. Steve Russell, R-Oklahoma City, said veterans often own multiple firearms. SB 793 will next be considered in the House of Representatives.
“If someone has 20 guns, Im not sure if I want to hire that person.”
Retard.
Liberals are blind as well as crazy
I don’t know how to break it to this Latte sipping, limp wristed prck, but I don’t think he would ever be in a position high enough to hire me...
Don’t insult retards...
oh dear, i guess i’m not getting a job in adelson’s district. i think im up to 24 guns.
“If someone has 20 guns, Im not sure if I want to hire that person.
How about if he had twenty thousand pictures of the Mutt with his wife...
"Senator Adelson has been active in community service. He is a founding Board Member of the Tulsa Coalition of Childrens Health, a group composed primarily of Tulsa pediatricians supporting consolidation of health care services in the Tulsa Metropolitan area."
He's been hangin' with hoplophobic pediatricians, IMHO.
That would be good grounds for a law suit, Adelson. it also proves you are a idiot and a bigot. Why you were elected, and by what kind of people is very disturbing.
Hand in hand and then comes agenda....
Is there an exception if a person has a history of crime, and theyre trying to assess if that person is a threat to other employees?
A history of crime can be determined by a pre-employment criminal background check. If the person has a extensive crinimal history they would not be getting the job anyhow so asking them about guns would be senseless at that point.
What an ignorant faggot. I have more than that, and I've never even been in a fist fight. If a politician is that ignorant about guns, I'm not sure I want him in the legislature.
If they limit the number of guns you can own they will limit you from having one.
Actually, a savvy employer here in NJ should always ask if an applicant can show a gun permit. An applicant who has the permit has been fingerprinted and checked by the FBI, and an employer cannot have that done himself.
There are all sorts of restrictions on what you can ask a job applicant, but they will have trouble preventing you from asking if one has a certain official state document.
Or just asked them if they worked for a bank or CC company. We got fingerprinted and investimigated out the wazoo at capital one.
I wonder what his reaction would be if someone said they wouldn't hire him because he owned gerbils ?
Didn’t Obie ask this of people who wanted to work for him?
Thanks for the link. I just sent this POS an lovely email.
O.o wow
Excellent!
