(CNN) – Alaska State Sen. Kim Elton, one of the leading officials to pursue an investigation of Gov. Sarah Palin during the heat of the presidential campaign, has taken a high-level job in the Interior Department.

Palin reacted in a short statement Monday, the day Elton announced his move to Washington.

“Senator Elton pledged his allegiance to President Obama last summer,” said the governor. “We wish him well as he moves on and hope that he uses this job for Alaska’s benefit.”

Palin was the target of an official investigation last year over charges she improperly dismissed a public safety commissioner who refused to fire her sister’s ex-husband, a state trooper. Elton led the legislative investigation of the incident.

I just LOVE this woman. This subtle yet direct way to call these corrupt hacks out... chutzpah mingled with grace, common sense and wit.

We had some Leftwingtards sign on to FR to argue that Kim Elton was doing a bang up job.

Obviously he was working for Obama and was just one of his running dog lackeys.

I think I'll go review some of the old "investigation" and "alaska" threads to see if I can track them down.

In other words “You touched the robe of the Messiah and sold your soul to him last summer.”

And was acquitted of all False political motivated accusations.

Elton is the senator from Juneau and like most capital cities, it is infested with tree huggers and short haired women with sturdy shoes. He’s a typical lib/nimrod.

Rumor has it the Guv may pull an end-around and reject the choices presented by the Dems for a replacement. It’s said she’s considering appointing a pro-life-Catholic, Filipino woman from Juneau as his replacement. Then sit back and see if the Dems reject a minority woman in 2010.

Supposedly he is going to run for Governor. Looks it will be on the wings of a new PAC called “Alaskans for Truth” a group that is hell bent on obsessing over Tasergate for the rest of their lives.

As a former Juneau resident I voted against Elton EVERY TIME. I never have cared for his ideas. Gads now he’s in Washington DC.

What kills me is the nearly monolithic MSM response - “oh, those stupid Republicans are acting like he was bought.” Well, he was.

You can bet that he won’t work in the best interests of either Alaska or the country. Look for him to join in obstructing the gas pipeline through Canada. The last thing that he or 0bama want is for Gov. Palin to be able to point to any major accomplishments.

I’m guessing that Hollis French is getting bundles of cash, and will be left in place there in Alaska to remain a thorn in her side.

Notice his first name Kim, and the other one is Hollis, kind odd names for men, don’t you think.
