Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) said Monday night that he was pleased to see Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele apologize to radio host Rush Limbaugh, whom he called a leader for many conservatives.
I'm glad he apologized, Jindal said during an interview on CNNs Larry King Live.
I think the chairman is a breath of fresh air for the party, he added. As I said before, I think Rush is a leader for many conservatives and says things that people are concerned about. [He] articulates very well the concern people have about growing government spending without an end in sight.
Steele came under fire Monday for comments he made over the weekend about Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer, Steele told CNN host D.L. Hughley. Rush Limbaugh his whole thing is entertainment. He has this incendiary yes, it's ugly.
After Limbaugh criticized him on his show Monday, Steele apologized for the comments in an interview with POLITICO Monday afternoon.
My intent was not to go after Rush I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh, Steele said. I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.
Limbaugh has long been an advocate of Jindal and defended the Louisiana governor last week after he was widely panned for his response to President Barack Obamas address to a joint session of Congress.
I love Bobby Jindal, Limbaugh said at the time. The people on our side are making a real mistake if they go after Bobby Jindal.
We should all invite Steele to our local gun range when ever he is in the neighborhood.
I don’t know, he might take it away from me.

It was halfhearted only and you could tell he gave it reluctantly.
Steele does not seem to have the mettle to take on the Democrats and play hardball against them, not other conservatives.
Next RNC Chairman candidate, please
People familiar with Governor Jindal have a high regard for him and many think he would make a good president. But Republicans have always had more people who would make good presidents than people who would make good presidential candidates. So long as we have a democracy, that distinction is crucial.
Governor Jindal made a typical Republican mistake when he began with a "me too" celebration of Obama's "historic" election. With a very limited time to address some complex issues, he needed to get right to the point and sober up such members of the audience as were capable of being sobered up.
“We should all invite Steele to our local gun range when ever he is in the neighborhood.”
He could be the target boy. ( on the trap range)
Steele is supposed to be on Hannity’s program this afternoon.
Ditto
Wow thanks for the heads up. I’m going to tune in for that!
Hannity loves having RINOs and Democrats on his show. Maybe he needs to have Phil Berg on his show and get some guts like Savage.
They are having trouble doing that without accidentally killing some of their own Nanny State sacred cows. The big argument doesn’t appear to be the amount of unConstitutional power in the system, it appears to be only over who holds the whip hand.
You are welcome.
Wouldn’t mind hearing Alan Keyes on some of these programs too.
Oh thats interesting. I will tune in. I did hear that Steele will be on OReilly tonite! Must see TV
Yes Steele half apologized But He DID not resign!!so the point is mute.
Good point. I wonder how many so-called 'conservatives' are going to complain about the Zero admin ending federal prosecutions of state-legal medical marijuana operations in CA.
GOPers should ditch the whiny nanny-state/Drug Warrior rhetoric about this issue, then challenge Zero to respect state sovereignty across all issues where the federal Leviathan has encroached too far.
