The GOP can choose to panic and say “No, no, he’s not our real voice! Why would you say such a thing?” or they can start growing a backbone and calling out the WH on this crap.

Were I running the GOP I would use your quotations from Rules for Radicals. I would use them again and again and again, and come right out and compare Obama’s moves with that of the Soviets, without blinking or hedging when the worms from the MSM ask “Are you REALLY calling the president of the United States a communist?” and respond “I am merely showing the American people the facts. Unlike the president, we don’t try to tell people what to think.”

How about a third option, ignore them. Every time a Republican either embraces or disavows Limbaugh, two people win - Rush Limbaugh and Barack Obama. It's great for Limbaugh's wallet and it's even better for Obama's political strategy.

So, for the third or fourth day in a row (frankly, I've lost count) Republicans are talking about Rush Limbaugh rather than Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid or Barack Obama. This is a losing strategy for the GOP (and conservatives) and are WINNING strategy for Barack Obama and the DNC.

Totally agree with you! We should embrace all the “Rules” for Radicals and turn it right back on them while circling Limbaugh at the same time. Rush is the face of the GOP. Rush is PASSIONATE PATRIOTISM. That’s what we all are..He’s earned the microphone to speak much of what I believe.

You want to know why communism, socialism, etc. fails. It’s because you can destroy “the yearning” in some men, but no one can ever destroy the “yearning to soar” in all men.

The silent majority has to stand uP, SHOUT OUT.

I actually recommend nationwide HIGH TEA PARTIES (during rush hour) outside of our local congressional offices to express our patriotism.

Were I running the GOP I would use your quotations from Rules for Radicals.

"RULE 5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."

See Post 34.

"This strategy will be as successful as Dan Quayle socking it to Murphy Brown."

Obama is pretty easy to ridicule.

Today's article by the Investors Business Daily makes Rush's point well when he said:

"I'm going further and telling you today it's not that I want Obama to fail; that's not it anymore. The president is presiding over economic failure. The president is watching it, doing nothing about it. He's watching unemployment grow; he's watching the stock market plummet; he is watching people sign up for unemployment. The president of the United States is doing nothing to stop the downward spiral of this economy. He has no economic recovery plan. The truth is, the president of the United States and Rahm Emanuel, who, remember, said, “Crisis is too great a thing to waste.” What does that mean? They want you suffering, they want you miserable, they want it worse, they want you rejecting conservatism. They want you rejecting capitalism. They want you turning to them in fear and desperation and angst for an immediate fix to the problem. They want you thinking you have no ability to fix your own problems. They think you have and they want you to have no ability to take care of yourself. So as the stock market now approaches minus 2,800 since Obama was elected, the statement today is to speed up the economic recovery, we're going to focus on health care. Ask yourself how that is going to get you your next job?"

I think the Republicanz can do worse than pick a professional communicator and self made millionaire as their mascot/standard bearer.

Hannity as VP?

Coulter as Attorney General?

Excerpt:

With the White House working to make Limbaugh the face of the GOP, it is getting some outside assistance.

A tax-exempt group that supports progressive causes — Americans United for Change—is helping finance a television ad that claims GOP leaders are beholden to the radio host. The ad closes with Limbaugh saying of Obama, "I want him to fail."

*snip*

Brad Woodhouse, president of Americans United for Change, said the group has discussed the ad campaign with the Democratic National Committee. Woodhouse is joining the DNC next week as its communications director.

Asked whether the White House was notified about the ad, Woodhouse said: "They certainly are aware—I'm sure they're aware of what we're doing."

Absolutely right. Remember what those scum did to Rush, Newt, and Bob Dole during the two years of "fifteen minutes hate" that the MSM drive-bys ran against them in 1994-1996, just for being in the way of Bill Clinton's reelection. That was when the term "Clinton-haters" was coined by a TIME magazine political hackette.

Remember Newt's "Man of the Year" magazine cover? It was a monument of We Hate Your Guts hate-propaganda portraiture. I was amazed Gingrich let them take his picture, knowing what scum they were. They sauced it up with green and red gel treatments and screens to bring out his fatigue wrinkles and five o'clock shadow (a la Nixon) ..... and then the same self-regarding jackasses got their panties in a wad years later when TIME pulled the same kind of photo-stunt with their O.J. cover, "darkening" his photo to make him look more menacing. And O.J. was a murderer, not the Speaker of the House.

I think conservatives, starting with Michael Steele and going right on down the line, need to take a page from Clinton's book and call these guys out on everything, immediately, in the same news cycle, beginning with their picking a fight with Rush, whom they think they can demonize the way they did Newt.

Remember, Obama used a "bipartisanship" sit-down with the GOP congressional leadership to start this attack on Limbaugh. So return the favor, and knock his block off. You want a fight, propaganda boy? You and your pseudojournalist agitprop pukes? Let's go.

I still find it interesting that Obama is more worried about Rush than they are about anyone in the Republican Party.
