I heard it this time “Yes, it’s incendiary; yes, it’s ugly.”

I agree he shouldn’t have said that. It was in the context of defending Rush though, and before that he refers the interviewer to what they said about Bush, etc.

I agree, those two statements are wrong. And I think Steele would want them back. However, I see him defending Rush - in all other parts of the interview.

I hate to see them fight, if he hadn’t made those two statements, a big ‘if’ I know, then he did good.

thanks for pointing out the parts to me, I at least understand what the objectionable parts are. Thank you.

There is not anyway a person is a true Conservative if they don’t believe in Free Markets.

That was the moniker given to Katon Dawson, South Carolina Republican Party Chair since he had past membership in an "all-white" country club.

I seem to remember that Bill Clinton once belonged to an all white country club. He only quit when the press got wind of it.

Addressing Michael Steele is like addressing a retarded person. The guy is an idiot. Those of us who said so during the GOP leadership race were called racists. Steele sounds like a dumb jock or something. No intelligence at all. Just ignore him.

This speaks volumes for our party. Its time to reorganize as a separate conservative organization with a truly conservative platform. Then... a loyalty oath so we can keep the Big Tent crowd out.

If we don't do this within the next six months... 2010 is lost and 2012 may not matter...

How about a separatist party??? Play our game or lose your majority... This two party system has become so institutionally corrupt that it really doesn’t matter who controls Congress anymore. Its all THEM screwing US!

For the record, I really wanted Blackwell as the head of the RNC.

Well, it didn't take Steele long to prove himself a disaster.

I'm not sure this mess of a Party is even worth trying to reclaim.

Clearly, I’m on Rush’s side on the whole flap, but I don’t want a wedge driven between the conservative base and the GOP. That just ensures Democrat victories.

I don't think you would personally be driving that wedge. The GOP itself has been doing that for some time now. By choice.

I’m not sure why they don’t update their web page. I’m a member...and I’m going to say “I didn’t leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party LEFT me, so until the RIGHT the ship - I won’t support them and be an independent.”

nor am I excited about some aspects of his personal life since he is a lynch-pin of Conservative thought

Excuse me...I guess you are without sin. Now, since I do have conservatives who are gay, divorced and living in sin, I guess I should become a LIBERAL - since I know SINNERS. Sorry, my friends are human and humans are not perfect.

I guess you should be the next RNC chair!!

The GOP is the current repository of elected conservatives in the US.

This sentence is completely wrong. To start with they are elected republicans NOT conservatives. There are very few REAL Conservatives in congress. Second, you misspelled "suppository".

You’re a conservative.

If you wanted to win a national elected office which party would you run with?

{I like your “suppository”..................joke.}

No kidding. I’m so sick of these punks making that comment, trying to get us to say, “No, you have it all wrong. Look, we have Michelle Malkin and Jesse Peterson and Bobby Jindal and ...........” That charge needs to be countered - regularly and soundly. And if it were up to me - recently American, Republican, always minority - it would also be done loudly.

It was indeed I who suggested this idea and I appreciate very much your remembering it. I live in MA which is a complete lost cause and I adopt candidates in more competitive areas. I refuse to give money to the RNC but some it ends up supporting Specter and Snowe and Snowe which is anathema for me. I would rather support candidates that I believe in directly. Steele has stepped in it big time and RNC donations will plummet.
