The basic conflict is not between Michael Steele and Rush Limbaugh. It’s between the Democratic Party and everyone else.

No, not jealous. I would just like more effectiveness.

As I said, I like Limbaugh and generally am lock step with his take. However, I can't forget his reluctance to have influence in the Primaries this time nor am I excited about some aspects of his personal life since he is a lynch-pin of Conservative thought and therefore what he does in this sphere can be used by the opposition cloud his messages.

Just my opinion FWIW.

Why does Steele even care what D.L. Hughley and his other guest think? They’re Democrats. He’s not going to appeal to them, and they are going to do everything they can to screw him.

It’s funny about Newt. Rush has a shtick that he’s arrogant, but in reality, Rush is not; he’s very down to earth, humble, and quiet. He knows his place in the world (all loaned by the Almighty) and he seems secure in his skin. But Newt tries to appear the humble scholar yet BETRAYS heavy arrogance as well as intense insecurity. You definitely get the impression he’d follow a flashing thong to utter disgrace (and we know he did).

I cheered when Rush defended me, in my little podunk town as being as smart and well informed as Steele and the washington types better get used to it. Go Rush Go!

ON the nose.

That makes two of us for a new party. Conservative Party is a good name but the Democrats must then also rename themselves, as either:

1) The Class Warfare Party.

2) The Race War Fomenting Party.

3) The Pandering to Perverts Party.

Or to save time, and cut to the chase:

4) The Thieving Communist Party

Just some random notes (mostly paraphrased):

Steele called Rush's comments "ugly" and "incendiary." Said he was just "an entertainer."

Rush said "he (Steele) took the bait from the drive-bys, "even though the premise was false." So, Rush tells Steele, "If it's your position that you want a left-wing President and Congress to succeed, you have some explaining to do!"

Why, Mr. Steele, Rush asked, "are you leading the Republican Party?"

Everyday, Rush and every other radio host he knows, get dozens of press releases from the RNC attacking the Democratic agenda, but when when it comes to voicing those same views on TV, they wimp out.

He told Steele, if he wants to lead the party, he needs to run for, and win, the Presidency. Right now, Steele is head of the RNC, not the Party, and his job is to revamp the primary system; and shore up the grassroots. That's how you lead, "Not by how entertaining and cute you are on TV."

Rush says, right now, he'd be embarrassed to be chairman of the RNC, because he'd "be presiding over a failure."

He also talked about how important it is never to betray someone who's helped you along the way, and of how he helped Steele, when he was a candidate, by having him on the show, and by slamming the defamatory Dem attacks on Steele. Rush wants to know, if he's so "ugly" and "incendiary," why he gets constant requests from Republican politicians to be on his show, or to espouse their causes?

Good stuff, but there was much more, and Steele and the RNC deserves every bit of it.

I didn't think Rush would address Steele directly, but these are critical times, calling for more than lip-service to a Party that shows no loyalty to its membership, while it never fails to ask them for money.

First of all I’m not your “little buddy”. Second, you most certainly are not 100% of Rush’s side as you proved by your comments the other night and your comments today, so save your garbage for someone who might actually believe you.

Great summary. I just want to add that he also informed Steele that the real leader of the Republican Party will be the next President and that it is NOT Michael Steele.

For the record, I really wanted Blackwell as the head of the RNC.

You must not be conservative if you don’t believe in the free market.

As Rush told Steele, the job of the RNC head is to try to win elections, and TRY TO CHANGE PRIMARIES SO DEMOCRATS CANNOT SELECT OUR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES.

(Email I just sent out:)

Dearest Chairman Steele,

I understand that your ego apparently has lead you down the path of attacking Rush Limbaugh.

You let what Rahm Emmanuel said affect your judgement; and to pick a fight with not only the true leader of the CONSERVATIVE movement, but with all those who follow him.

If you truly care about our Country and the principles of Ronald Wilson Reagan, you need to immediately apologize to Rush Limbaugh and to the millions and millions of us who have had to hold our noses and vote for inferior RINO candidates - you should apologize to those of us who are fed up with the weak and _ussified republican party. GROW A PAIR.

You need to be attacking Rahm and Obamessiah and their socialist policies, not the CONSERVATIVE base! What in the hell are you doing?

I am a CONSERVATIVE, not a republican from here on out. And will support only CONSERVATIVE candidates, not the perpetual RINO’s who the former RNC leadership and apparently, the current leadership promote.

I don’t know on what planet Rush monologues could accurately be described as ugly.

Thanks very much for the video link to Steele’s statements.

There must have been. I honestly do have a problem with what he said in this clip and I like Rush a lot. Don’t see an attack there, unless it’s that he said “No.” to “Rush is the leader of the Republican Party.” and Rush and I would agree with that statement.

Must be some more that I haven’t heard about. Thanks again for this link.

Agreed. It is one thing to disagree with Rush (I do myself, sometimes) but to use words like “ugly” and “incendiary” means that the new RNC chair has jumped the shark, early— and is an accurate reflection of today’s Republican party which jumped the shark every time it abandoned conservative principles.

I no longer recognize the Grand Old Party.

All the people talking about abandoning the republican party and voting third party or starting a new one are total idiots.

You might as well say you have given up on the country and want to have no political say whatsoever.

Use your power to influence the republican party and primary system to become more conservative. Don’t opt out of the political process and system by going third party.

Honestly I think more than half the people talking third party are trolls trying to demoralize and gut conservativism.
