I read headlines and some articles. Don’t seem to hear an uproar from republicans in Congress, I mean a REAL uproar.

Hopefully Israel can stir up trouble in Iran and Lebanon and Gaza and cause an increase in Defense. I'm sure the Paks and Hindis will nuke each other too, and THAT will definitely piss off obambi, since will will no doubt influence global warming/cooling/change or whatever the nuts call it now.

Why is he weakening our defense from foreign spy’s but increasing domestic surveillance?
One of the untold stories about the Afghan and Iraq wars was the lack of adequate equipment (body armor and properly armored vehicles). Part of the reason we didn’t have them is that during the Clinton years, we stopped investing significantly into those areas. Obama will cut defense to make it impossible for us to fight a war for years after he is gone.
Hmmm, this guy shuts down Quantanamo, wants to treat terrorism in criminal court, doesn’t like efforts to wiretap people in the US during phone calls to known terrorists, yet wants a National Security Force? Wonder why. If terrorism is a crime, pay for more police. But state and local authorities control police forces, not the federal government. Scary. And I don’t expect Chris Matthews to ask him what he means about the National Security Force.
During the campaign he promised to spend nothing on new weapons research.
That’s not going to happen and I strongly suspect that’s not what he actually said.
I will get a transcript of the soundbite. He basically said that one way to make the world safer for future generations was to stop developing new weapons.
My SIL was a career Army man stationed in Korea but left when Clinton was in office because they couldn't get bullets or tires. Many valuable trained dedicated service men and women left then.
Now I have a friend with two kids in the service, one due to go overseas very soon. She doesn't get it, voted for Obama because he made her feel good. I pray for her kids who have more sense than she has.
Wrong. Obama plans on actually cutting the Defense Budget. Estimated figures have ranged from $50-100B less than the last budget.
