Tune in March 2:
Former Tennessee senator and presidential candidate Fred Thompson will launch his nationwide radio talk show on March 2, opening with 125 stations, according to the Westwood One syndicate.
The show will air from noon-2 p.m. Monday through Friday opposite Rush Limbaugh, though some stations may delay the broadcast to later in the day. The only Tennessee station signed up thus far is WWTN 99.7 FM in Nashville.
Thompson gave up his role as the district attorney on televisions Law & Order in order to run for president.
Clearly Fred Thompson was not well during his brief run for the presidency.
In the past few months his appearances on various shows has given us a glimpse of the old Fred. Articulate, and looking much healthier.
My computer crashed a couple of weeks ago, so I'm working from an old list. My apologies if you've previously asked to be removed from the FRed list.
Thanks, that’s great news! I’ve missed Fred. I hope he’ll be on in my area. Now, if only Mark Steyn can get his own radio show, it will perfect.
In Denver, they are replacing O'Reilly with Jason Lewis. I still haven't been able to find him listed locally. Hopefully he will be on a station somewhere that streams live.
I still haven’t been able to find out a list of the stations carrying him, though. I sure would like to find one in Colorado.
Right now, I can get Rush on 2 stations from work - an hour apart, so I might be able to listen to a bit of both if I could find a station here.
no you did not.
He was never a serious candidate he was only there to split votes.
Now he is being used again to split listeners.
Thompson is going to mouth the same milque toast mccain rino BS.
(ie is insane BS federalist view of the federal marriage amendment. doubly absurd given he was a lawyer and a lobbyiest)
Of course this means more conservative voices on the radio rather than another al frankin.
Competing in Rush’s time slot. Not a good thing.
I was an early Fred supporter, but felt let down by his lack of energy. While Fred has the requisite great voice and good sense of timing, to do well these shows take A LOT of prep. I hope he’s up to it. Two hours would be much better than 3.
Best if Rush says nothing, it’s not a time for a cat fight.
Because the maniac glare doesn't translate?
My employer provides rush 24/7, but frankly, three hours a day is more than I can take. More than half of Rush is about-well-- Rush. When you throw in the golf and football stories and the occasional off color theme/joke (sex change and bestiality aren't my cup of tea) there's only about 30% of his show that's truly conservative.
Here's hoping that Fred is more of a Tony Snow than a Rush wannabe.
Thanks for the link. My employer frowns on the use of bandwidth this way but if I don’t listen full time, I can get away with it.
“It is hard for me to feel happy about Fred. I feel let down.”
Me, too; I always felt “hinky” about his half-assed campaign. It seemed like he and McCain had some deal going on behind the scenes. Probably not true — just a something in my gut.
I’d never listen to him over Rush, but he’d have a kick-ass show if he and his wife were co-hosts.
Todays Show:
Hour 1: Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC) Will talk about the economic stimulus package and his refusal to accept some government funds from his state.
Hour 2: Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) Will talk about the top issues of the day, including President Obama’s budget, the economic stimulus bill, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I hope this works good for Fred, we didn’t get BOR around here on the radio so we probably won’t get this one...is it set up to listen online?
Thanks for the link.
JB, thanks for the ping!
Whoa! :) ...and w/ the unfortunate death of Paul Harvey..
(ABCRadio, Will fill the Gap in Programming, quickly)
an Opportunity for FRED
You're on!
I don't think we did here either, but the only radio station I listen to is the one with Rush. Maybe my station will carry it on delay instead of Hannity or Savage. Rush followed by Fred would be awesome!
