If you live in Illinois, Oklahoma, maybe even the rest of the country flags should be at half staff. September 4th should be considered Paul Harvey Day.

Paul Harvey was a great voice of the 20th century who was visiting for a while in the 21st. His visit is over now, and millions are sad to see him go. RIP.

My Dad and I used to listen to Paul Harvey News while commuting to work from Long Island to New Jersey. He was on WOR 710 then during the John Gambling show. There was no conversation allowed while Paul’s daily take on the news and commentary eased the daily traffic jam to get to work. This was during a time of great optimism for me in the early 80s when Ronald Reagan was president. I continued to listen to Paul’s broadcasts to this day. His wonderful voice will be missed as will be those good ole days of the 80s.
