I agree that Cantor’s a decent guy. If he really wanted Obama to succeed, he wouldn’t have managed to get all 178 House GOP members to vote no on porkulus, not once but twice. But these guys have to be ready for the Rush question and turn the tables on hacks like Stephanopoulus.

Who needs protocol? No common sense or courtesy there. No. I haven't suggested that we don't need "protocol". What I have said is that protocol should be based on common sense and mutual courtesy.
If one on this thread wishes to berate a conservative public figure and take the public figure's comments out of context, then one could expect to be berated in return by posters who don't like seeing conservatives being taken out of context.
Thanks for using my discerning line back to me.
Why should I refrain from it after you did not?
I'm honored and flattered! BTW, even though it was your post that started the berating of posters on this thread, I won't berate you.
Having to repeat myself,I will say again that the berating on this thread didn't start with me. I will make one more attempt to illustrate my point: First think of how you felt when I berated some other poster. Then think how I felt when I saw other posters berating Cantor.
You have free reign (sic).
Never...free rein.
Always, FreeReign.
Regards!:)

I can't keep up with you! Ask me to be more discerning again, could you? I like the originality! I wasn't trying to be original. I was trying to point out the irony.

I must admit, I did not read this thread past the first 50, I did not listen nor watch the video. I did however, watch the video of El-Rushbo at CPAC. He made a hell of a lot of sense. Not one, NOT ONE, politician in Washington has made sense to me since Ronald Reagan. I’ll take Rush, thank you.
I will do whatever it takes to take this country back. I must. For myself, for my husband that serves, for my son. I must. I count on the kindness of the folks in these pages..... My Freepers, I thank you. We shall not falter. We are Conservatives, we will be back!!!

....Cantor is just another loser punkneo who should be relegated to the dustbin of history....hes a worthless loser. I had to do some homework, as I am not familiar with this Cantor. All that came to my brain was a Mickey Cantor....
Some people are gifted in knowing when to hitched themselves to the greatest potential media coverage... even when there is no there there.... OLD Spector sure knew how to get himself attention on Rush's three/hour/day for some free advertising a few years back.
So far this sounds like there will be a NEED for more exposure to clear up any planted misunderstandings..... I just hope Rush see's through and really is standing against the evolution of conservative principles.

Do you think all conservative politicans should declare a media boycott or only speak to ‘friendly’ media? How would that go over with the general public?

Who put “this headline is a lie”? Cantor wimped out in front of Stephie. The evidence is on video.

Yes, Republicans should go home on weekends and hold town hall meetings, go to churches, schools, colleges, do local media, knock on doors, have picnics, dinners, meetings, events. Year round.
They should communicate thru the Internet media, radio, newsletters, pay for TV ads.
They should never do any TV network (cable) “shows” or pressers run by the DNC.

That's what I thought.
Eliz. - See above post. It appears, Disco Dave, that our dear friend, Liz, jumped the gun a little regarding Cantor and I feel compelled to get her back on the right track. We all love her contributions here and I would hate to see her reputation marred, even in the slightest way.
By the way, can you believe everything that is closed or shut down today? I awoke to a message on my phone (from work) to 'stay home, see you tomorrow'. LOL

Rush is ripping Michael Steel for disowning him on TV after Rush came to his defense in the past. I am in Maryland where Steel came from and I knew he would be trouble for the party when he said “
we need to reach out...” . That almost means apologizing for being a republican, ala Jack Kemp, a disaster. Rush is ripping the RNC and Steel, pretty good. Steel was in a position in the middle of a talk show to attack Obamas policies but instead chose to go on a liberal black talk show where Obama is liberal God and always will be, This was completely pointless and counterproductive, Reach out my A....
I see the title of this post is now :” this headline is a LIE; don't take the bait ”, Good title!

I was trying to point out the irony.

I was talking about one poster who did not berate Cantor, just pointed out facts.
The problem you have with posters berating Cantor you will have to take up with them.
Sorry I missed your posts back to me until now, I was busy.
Oh and FreeReign doesn't have free reign???
Now that right thar is irony!

all Cantor said is that he doesn't necessarily agree that he wants to see Obama fail. What else is the Minority Whip supposed to say? Perhaps that he agrees that all of Obama's socialistic programs, bills, and policies should fail? That's what Rush was saying.
As a disclaimer, I haven't read all of this. Maybe Cantor did say that.

I wasn't talking about "posters." I was talking about one poster who did not berate Cantor, just pointed out facts. The poster didn't post the facts. All the poster had to do was check the transcript.
From Rush's website, Rush says Cantor agrees with him.
Rush:Now, it starts out, Sargent wants to know if I agree that what Eric Cantor said on Sunday with George Stephanopoulos was a repudiation of my notion that I want President Obama to fail; and I wrote back and I said, "You've got it wrong. What you need to do is check the misleading information on the ABC website." I said, "Check the show transcript against what George Stephanopoulos posted on his website and you'll see that on the show itself George did not define my remarks as they appear on the website. Cantor actually agreed with me in his full answer, re: policy." So, in other words, the website for This Week with George Stephanopoulos is where everybody got the news that Eric Cantor had "repudiated" me, and they put the transcript of the show on the website up inaccurately. The transcript of the show leaves out all of the Rush qualifiers about hoping to fail. Cantor's answer was essentially, policy-wise, to agree with me. So I wrote him back I sent him the transcripts. I sent him the website, what it was reported, and the transcript of the show, and I asked him to add this.

Peer pressure affects the weak. Cantor is affected by peer pressure. ===> Cantor must be weak.
