When would YOU consider them as having achieved "critical mass"

The "critical mass" to which I referred would be when we get past the point of "no turning back." I hope that's not the case, but someday, who knows. I think that day will be evident when the government elite no longer even try to pay "lip service" to the Constitution.

I agree with you completely. And if we can get "real conservatives" elected into local and state positions, we well as the house and senate, people who can state, for the record, what conservatism is, then there's still hope. I honestly believe that the reasons the republicans lost their majority in the house and senate was because they abandoned conservatism, and became the "party of not quite as big government." A lot of conservatives stayed home during this last election cycle. A lot of Libertarians (big and small) either sat it out, or in a Randian hope of helping to hasten the end, voted for the dems. Because the republicans really didn't give us anyone to vote FOR.

Rush said that the "default" for people is towards freedom and liberty. I agree. Unfortunately, far too many are willing to take the easy path, when promises are made. But I still believe that the vast majority would be willing to vote conservative if only a decent candidate were run, and there was a good voicing of the sort of things Rush had to say last night.

"Rush said that the "default" for people is towards freedom and liberty."

One of a few wise comments Ross Perot ever uttered - "The Devil is in the details"

What Rush said was true of the "Greatest Generation".
They KNEW the true definition and cost of Freedom and Liberty.
We are no longer like or even similar to that generation.
The "Feedom and Liberty" desired by the proven majority of our current generation is something quite different.

Our schools, K thought University are filled with Leftist indoctrinating Union stalwarts - who to this day heap scorn on all acts of war unless that war is fought to increase abortions, legalize Gay marriage, fight man caused global warming, save the whales, rescue the seals, give a free bilingual education to every illegal immigrant, grant citizenship rights to illegal aliens, save the spotted owl, stop oil from flowing out of American oil wells, protect trees from the dreaded ax man, end capital punishment, civil rights for uncivil miscreants, free the murderous Islamists from Gitmo, build prayer rooms for Muslims in our schools and shopping centers, remove the 10 commandments from our Public Building and Schools, etc, etc, etc...
You must get my drift...

As if that isn't bad enough - too many "parents" are unfit to claim the name or right... Youngsters are being raised by incompetent, immoral, degenerate, sub human garbage - and we wonder why we have so many "problem kids" and young offenders. Hell, "Johnny" can't read because he never saw a book before the 1st grade -- and neither his mommy or unknown daddy can read well enough to hold down even a menial job! Yet - we PAY these folks to have kids!

Clearly OUR generation is unwilling to "default" to Liberty and Freedom" if that goal is defined as personal responsibility for one's circumstance, sovereignty of our borders and culture, adherence to the Constitution as written and the end of the unconstitutional practice of stealing from Peter to pay Paul. Government should NEVER be allow to decide who "deserves" the sweat of your brow. That decision should be held by you and you alone.

In the final analysis....I believe good old Rush is whistling past the cemetery --- hope the sound will scare off the goblins...
I prefer to remain silent, since I KNOW the goblins are present and dangerous - carry a weapon and slay the goblins.

But that's just me.... I'm like the guy whose only tool is a hammer and wants to treat all problems like nails..... and pound the hell out of them....

Training is hard to overcome.....
