not surprised, they all suck sewer vapors over there..
Everyone’s idea of heaven is a little different, I guess, lol.
And when he endorsed something, man, you knew it was worth buying. I think I loved listening to his endorsements sometimes more than his stories.
End of an era.
I don't let it get me down as much anymore. People who live like that have not only corrupt lives, but also corrupt souls.
Though they may revel in cruelty and delight in inequity, they are doomed in the eyes of the future and in the eyes of God.
The shame is theirs to bare, not anybody else. They mock themselves in the end.
Though it is hard to say, they should be pitied and viewed as an object lesson to what happens when a human devotes themselves to evil.
Thanks so much for posting that Paul Harvey quote. He will be greatly missed.
I liked that man.I heard a few interviews with him. He was a man with American ideas. RIP.
I remember listening to Paul Harvey during my lunch break when I was a farm boy growing in in the Cotton and soybean fields of Tennessee - 30+ years ago.
Proverbs 12:
5The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
13The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
17He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
20Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
22Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
23A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
Well, we know who’ll be getting ‘the rest of the story’. I look forward to meeting Paul Harvey in person someday in the not so distant future! He included the story of one of my friends in one of his books: Buddy Lewis, Birmingham (Ensley actually), AL. Paul Harvey didn’t just write about the rest of the story, he could see what was underneath, in the hearts of folks, and he gave it to us as ‘the rest of the story’ sometimes in not so pleasant wrapping but always the truth of the matter. Mister Harvey saw the deep goodness in my friend, Buddy Lewis, and with that I knew Paul Harvey was a good man, a genuinely good man. ... It takes one to know one and Harvey saw it in Mister Lewis.
Just more confirmation that he was a good man who led a great and honorable life. RIP Mr. Harvey and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Nice!
See you on the other side, old friend!
He had the biggest, thickest hands of anyone I’ve ever shaken hands with.
Quite a patriotic Christian trooper.
Will be great chatting with him on the other side of ‘the Jordan.’
“And when he endorsed something, man...”
I used to get so darned mad at him. All the thousands of time I must have listened to him and I’d still say to myself, “I wonder what this story is about?”, and then it would be another one of his clever commercial lead-ins and he’d have me again. Paul was truly one of a kind and I will miss him.
Rest in peace, my friend.
And thats the rest of the story
Then they are just increasing their punishment in hell.
He was an authentic patriot and an authentic saint.
In other words, like chimpanzees they fling feces at things that frighten and confuse them like virtue, decency, and dedicated work.
I remember listening Paul on the radio in my parents basement, usually while I was getting ready for school. That would be Junior high school, and I'll be 60 my next birthday. A long, long time.
The world and the US is a much poorer place for his passing.
