Conservative activists on Saturday named former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney the winner of a poll for best 2012 GOP presidential candidate.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won 20 percent of the vote in straw poll for presidential favorites.
The poll marked the third consecutive year Romney came out on top
Don't you dare try to pin your lunacy on me!! When that judge takes her oath of office she is responsible for her verdicts. Every governor and president has made judicial picks that haunt them - it's inevitable - but the judge is responsible. And the criminal is even more responsible.
“Do you think Romney would have won a straw poll of conservatives say in 1977?”
A hypothetical not worth answering. We are in the here in now.
I’ve noticed that as well - on other threads.
ROFLOL!!! I was just told by a very good friend that Romney received 15% less votes then the last time. Shows that more people are catching on! Politico doesn’t seem to mention that little gem but then they are bought and paid for by Romney. :)
Who on this thread besides you honestly believes this? The Clintons have had numerous documented ethical lapses and shady dealings. So far the only thing I've seen from Romney who is a squeaky clean Mormon (who have a venerable tradition of being squeaky clean good Americans) is a dog ride at least two decades ago and a donation Ann Romney made to Planned Parenthood at least a decade ago. I guess Romney is the greatest most brilliant cover-uper and deceiver in history - he makes NO mistakes, right?
God help us!
Well, most of are getting on in years. ;>)
More excuses for a pro-criminal Socialist fraud. Have you any shame ?
Hey, no problem. ;-)
I like Oliver.
Because they're desperate and not demanding who they recognize as a conservative.
My point was, Romney wouldn't have been the choice of CPAC in 1977, 1987 or 1997. In 2006 Romney got 5% in the straw poll. That was the poll that preceded his announcement of running for president. Ignoring Romney's past liberalism and allowing him to label himself a conservative adn get away with it, left a severe tarnish on CPAC's fine reputation.
Un Freaking Believable. Wow.

Stop acting so hysterical, Norm. You’re doing your Drama Queen schtick again.
But here’s the thing: we’re not in any of those years. Even more I’m happy that we have a robust field shaping up for 2012. I will be happy to support whoever is the nominee because I’m sure it will be a conservative.
It’s sad. It is exactly like a lot of us have been saying, this party just doesn’t get it. 2006. 2008... Too many have a death wish and Slick Willard is the Grim Reaper.
Hypothetical, okay, but also highly relevant.
CPAC wouldn't have chosen Romney in 1977, 1987 or 1997 and you know it. As I already posted, Romney got 5% of the straw poll vote in 2006. A time when most conservatives still recognized Romney, as a pro-choice liberal.
Some of us conservatives see Romney as two-faced politico, who would do or say anything to get elected.
What you’re doing is called “projection.”
And there's your problem right there, Norm.
You got the Slick Willard talking points down pat, that’s for sure.
