“My father and mother created from thin air what one day became radio and television news,” said Paul Harvey Jr. in a statement. “So in the past year, an industry has lost its godparents and today millions have lost a friend.”

I’m 62 y.o. and I remember listening to him in the ‘50’s.
Years ago my mother worked at Marshall Field’s in Oak Park, IL. Occasionally Angel would come shopping and a few times my mother waited on her. She would use her credit card, which said “Mrs. Paul Harvey”. You had to have excellent credit back then to get a credit card.

And now for the REST of the story:

What sad news. The man was one of a kind, a legend. We are all diminished by his leaving us.

Harvey was one of a kind. He's also part of the memories I have spending time with my dad as a child. Everyday after work I would ride home with him and listen to Mr. Harvey.
It wasn't until I was older that I appreciated him and his wisdom.

Paul,
Thank you for making the lives of all who knew/listened to you better. You’ve always been one of my media heros. There are few of them left these days.
