I was just curious. And I see that it is the same "resistance" that have had their butts handed to them for the better part of the last two or three decades. The same "resistance" that is treated like the red-headed step child by their own "leaders" in Washington.
pffffft...It's time for the "resistance" to grow some balls and make something of themselves. A true resistance is only going to work if we start within the resistance itself, and weed out the traitors. Only then will we represent a REAL resistance.

Three decades? Since 1979, we’ve won 5 of 8 Presidential elections, and we controlled Congress from 1994-2006. And, as Democrats go, Bill Clinton was on the conservative side (he was comparable ideologically to Nixon — particularly after we took Congress). Barack Obama is the first truly liberal President we’ve had since 1980 (with the possible exception of Clinton’s first two years).
We had the most conservative President in 50 years (Reagan), and no true conservative has lost a Presidential election since 1979. We’ve seen the media monopoly crumble with the emergence of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, conservative talk radio, and the Fox News Channel. We’ve seen the nomination and confirmation of Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia, John Roberts and Samuel Alito, to create what will likely be (with Kennedy) a longstanding conservative majority on the Court.
With regards to policy — we’ve seen several substantial tax cuts in that time, welfare reform, Court recognition of the 2nd Amendment, and until recently, the economy has thrived. We crushed Soviet Communism, saved Kuwait, liberated Iraq, and are making headway in Afghanistan. We’ve got Al Quiada on the run and haven’t seen any domestic terrorism in 8 years.
There may have been some failures over the last 30 years ... but there has also been a LOT of success for the Republican/conservative resistance over that time.

We’ve never been a top-down movement. This resistance starts from the bottom-up.
Right now, our current “leaders” are less important than discovering our future leaders. Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, Eric Cantor, Mark Samford, etc. will be those leaders — until then, Rush is king. In addition, with the exception of several worthless Senators, I was very impressed with Republicans in Congress and the Senate for standing up to the “stimulus”.

We got lazy in our success since 1980, and we stopped fighting the ground war — we stopped selling conservatism. But, we’ve started up again. The Republican resistance, however futile, to the stimulus was the first step. We have overcome these odds before. We will again.

We have, since William F. Buckley’s National Review started in the 50’s, always represented a real resistance. Don’t believe me? Ask Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, and John Kerry. Ask Bill Clinton, whose agenda was stifled by Newt Gingrich and the “Contract w/ America”, and who was impeached because of our resistance. Ask the “moveon” goofballs that fly into a tizzy everytime Rush Limbaugh opens his mouth.
This isn’t a bright time for conservatives, I am fully aware. But, this isn’t much different than it was in 1976 when Carter was elected, or in the first two years of the Clinton Administration. Democrats controlled all. But, in 1980, we had Morning in America ... and in 1994, we seized agenda control back from Bill.
Morning in America will come again.
