Fiscal conservatism eventually leads to social conservatism in my book.

My revised and edited book has come to this conclusion:

Limited government leads to social and fiscal conservatism. It is why the person who says, "I'm a fiscal conservative but a social liberal" is stating an oxymoron.

LIMITED GOVERNMENT produces social and fiscal conservatism -- not the other way around. It's an important disctinction that I've only grasped in the past five years or so.

Because Romney has demonstrated consistently that he sees government as the solution, all his declarations of being "conservative," fiscal or otherwise, are moot. Expanded government leads to fiscal and social liberal expansion. Romney in power would lead to increased fiscal and social liberalism no matter what words come out of his mouth.
