Okaaaaa? I am baffled by your irritation. It was you not me that dishonored the service of Gov Palin’s son by diminishing his assignment. As well as others who serve in combat zones but are not necessarily on the front lines.
I do not need to have served in the service to honor them.
I do not know what your experiences with drivers are but I know what my fathers experience being a driver was, I would have him shake your hand but you see he was shot by a sniper as he drove a general around and lost his arm because of it.
To view me as insane because I honor our military is really interesting, I mean really really interesting. Or do you think I am insane because I compared you to a donkey?

Oh, yea and one more thing. Of all the people who ragged on you for your dishonoring comment I am the only one you have seen fit to respond to - thanks for the honor. I just wonder why, because I said ass or donkey.

I don’t know. I guess your post stuck out because you personal attacked instead of just giving your reason for disagreeing with me. Do you really think I believe this stuff? Of course not. This was one post that was pretty sarcastic for the most part. I was a driver before and it actually is not a fun job. It is a lot of waiting around. Anyway sorry to be so cranky and I hope you have a great day. It is Tuesday!!! Better than Monday. lol.

You want ME to do the research to disprove an unsubstantiated claim made by YOU on a public forum? HOW CONVENIENT FOR YOU!!! As it is, I've already done research to disprove claims made by other Romneybots that, among other things, Michael Reagan "supported" and/or "endorsed" Romney. I researched it and found 100 percent evidence that desperate Romneybots had taken a quote from an old Reagan column very much out of context. I found zero evidence that Reagan ever intended to officially promote Romney, unless you subscribe to a peculiar definition of "support" and "endorse" as they are commonly understood in political usage -- which indeed, Romney supporters seem to do quite deliberately. Their standards are pretty low in that regard.

I also researched and found that the endorsement of Mark Levin, touted joyously among Romneybots as proof of their hero's value, was made by Levin with reluctance and poignant lack of enthusiasm. Clearly, Levin considered Romney the least lousy in a very lousy lot of choices. If that's your idea of an endorsement to brag about -- well, all I can say is that ONCE AGAIN, the behavior of Romney supporters speaks volumes about their candidate.

Your claim that Rush Limbaugh "said he voted for Romney" should be proveable if it's true, and you should do the research if you want to be believed. Post the written column or transcript from his show, and I'll certainly post here that I stand corrected. Rush is a guy whose every word on every show is recorded, transcripted, and heard by literally millions -- so where's the transcript? Where are FReepers who listen to his show constantly who remember his saying it? Do you mean to insult all of the anti-Romney FReepers here by saying that at least some of them MUST have heard him say it (just the law of averages) and yet they have deliberately forgotten it?

Here's the parallel you illustrate. When Rush said outright, in plain, clear English heard by thousands of FReepers that Fred Thomopson "was the only conservative on the stage last night," you didn't see many, if any, Thompson supporters shouting to all and sundry and making claims on a public forum that Rush "endorsed" or "supported" Thompson. The reason Thompson supporters didn't do this is because it would have been LYING, Barnie. LYING.

Look, Barnie, if you were honest or wanted to show decent standards, you'd say something along the lines of being pretty sure you remember hearing him saying it, or that you assume he voted for Romney from what he said, or that somebody else told you he said it. I'd have respect for you if you in that case, even if I disagreed with you.

However, you and many Romney supporters as represented on Free Republic behave in such a way that it's pretty difficult to respect your ideas or opinions in the slightest.

I suspected that Romney packed the convention with his activists. That's the only way he could come out on top.

Did either of you watch Rush Limbaugh's talk to CPAC? I watched it last night. When he talked about what conservatives should be avoiding, when he showed his crestfallen disdain for politicians there who asked him about "policy" with regard to options -- well, I felt he was talking about Romney. I even admit that I hope that he was thinking of Romney as he railed against Republican leaders who fail to operate on the promise that government is the problem.

The reason I think I might have something is because I can't think of a single conservative "test" or "learning opportunity" that I've been in disagreement with. Conservative principle is principle. If Limbaugh ever came out in favor of Romney, I would be very seriously discombobulated!

Turned on Fox on Saturday about 30 minutes into his speech. Was spell bound for the following hour. A wonderful presentation, from notes, no teleprompter, full of truth, humor, stories, etc. Just masterful!

Mitt is a real contender and very smart.

(Yeah, right)

Hit the rewind button. It's Jan. 1, 1978, and somebody asks then 30-yo Mitt a mythical question based upon 1/1/78 reality:

"Mitt, is it true you belong to a church that denies blacks the right to be a priestholder in your church?"

"Yes, but that doctrine wasn't original with me. Perhaps you could get an explanation from our general authorities."

"Mitt, aren't you descended from the Pratt brothers who were original apostles in the LDS Church? And didn't they and others know or explain the basis for this denial of blacks?"

"Oh, yes. But perhaps you should take this matter up with our leaders."

"But, Mitt, you're 30 years old, for God's sake. Could you please explain why contributing 10% of your income and doing sacred temple rituals and holding membership all in an organization that denies priesthood rights to millions of people around the world doesn't exactly present you in a positive light?"

"Well, the original Book of Mormon does talk about being 'white and delightsome' before our leaders decided to excise that word 'white.' So doesn't that count for something?"

"So your god considers being 'white' to be 'delightsome?'"

"Well, yes, well, at least he did before he had his prophet-editors change that phrase...just like it talks about how the Lamanite Indians would one day have their skin color changed. Anyway, I'm not a theologian, so..."

WILLARD

I remember that movie! June 1971, Boman Twin Theater, Tulsa Ok. Had a blind date with a nice girl. 38 years later I am still with that nice girl.

I’ll be the first to line up behind Mitt up here in NH - but I’ll probably have to take a break from FR for a while. Too many Mitt haters!!! LOL

Clinton ran circles around that boob Gingrich.

Gingrich was a great opposition leader when the Pubbies were in the minority. He deserves credit for both stopping Hillarycare and for the big win in the 1994 midterms.

He was not, however, an effective leader once in power.
