If the Republican Partys conservative wing had the power to choose presidential nominees, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney would be the hands-down choice.
For the third straight year, activists attending the Conservative Political Action Conference chose Romney, a candidate in the 2008 primaries, as their future presidential favorite in a straw poll.
He won 20 percent of the straw poll vote.
A relative newcomer who has been much in the news came in second: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal was favored by 14 percent of the conservatives at the annual Washington gathering.
Third place was a tie between Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin , who was the partys vice presidential nominee in 2008 and former presidential candidate Ron Paul . Each was preferred by 13 percent of conference goers.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich placed fifth, with 10 percent of the straw poll vote.
Ok, but before you oppose him too much maybe you should make sure that there is someone you can support, otherwise things might not turn out the way you expect, again. For all we know Palin will just run for reelection in Alaska.
For all we know Palin has made moves that indicate she will run 2012. A lot of Conservatives want her to. She has a PAC already. In the primaries I won’t volunteer or donate for anyone but her. If she does not join the fray, I will vote for the most Conservative in the primaries (there will be someone to the right of Romney), and vote for the GOP candidate in the generals.
... the likes of Hannity, Rush and Ann Coulter. They all voted for Romney.
TALK ABOUT BEING MANIPULATED!!! You are a fine one to accuse SolidWood or any other FReeper of allowing themselves to be manipulated by the media!!! Rush has never revealed who he voted for in the Primary or in the Presidential race. YOU LIED ABOUT RUSH. I have yet to see you post any transcripts or quotes from written columns by Hannity or Coulter stating for themselves that they did indeed vote, or plan to vote, for Romney.
You have very low standards of honesty and ethics. What would have been honest would have been to post that you assume "the likes of Hannity, Rush and Ann Coulter ... all voted for Romney." But you LIED instead and turned your assumption into wishful "fact" in order to deceive readers into thinking Rush et all think of Romney as you do. It requires deceiving yourself as well as others to pull it off.
The behavior of Romney supporters speaks volumes about their candidate.
I suggest you go back and dig up the old threads where these issues were discussed, over a year ago. Rush said on his radio show that he voted for Romney in the Florida primary. Hannity openly supported Romney and said he would vote for him. Coulter was also a supporter. There were many threads about each of these endorsements. Correct me if I`m wrong but if I remember correctly you`re a member of the anti list from the religion forum. So nothing I say or prove will change your mind on this subject.
The RomneyBOT premise is the all must bow down to Romney because there might not be anyone else.
Utter BS.
Almost any 5th grader would be superior to carpetbagger chameleon proven-fascist Bishop Romney,
who is also the author of socialized medicine and the IMPOSITION of gay; marriage.
Why take the Fake superhero, wrapped in myth?
[from "Mitt Romney as Tarantino's Superman", New Republic]:
"Whereas most superheroes' secret identities (Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker) are their true identities
--the people they were before their parents were murdered or they were bitten by radioactive spiders
or exposed to gamma rays or what have you--Superman was born Superman.
It's Clark Kent that is the invented alias, the pose, the "costume."
And in the way Superman plays Kent--weak, self-doubting, cowardly--
we can see what he thinks of the human race overall.
It occurred to me that the same is true of Mitt Romney's desperate,
if never terribly persuasive, impersonation of a conservative Republican."
So America, why take the Fake superhero, when you can have a real one save this country?
Conservative Activists Still Favor Romney

Actually it was the conference attendees who voted for Romney...
not conservatives...
Anyone can go to a conference...
Like caucuses, nobody has to register as a Republican or conservative...
Romney did alright in caucuses during the primary too...
The ballot booth was not that “kind” to him...
Yes, especially when they're organized to do so by a well-moneyed, well-oiled machine.
It's a bad joke and a deception, fed by sell-outs like David Keane and the ACU.
You are 100% wrong.
Huh??? What are you talking about?
Rush said on his radio show that he voted for Romney in the Florida primary.
Really? Again, when you make a statement like that about a guy whose words are recorded and heard by millions, I want to see the words in transcript. You expect me to believe that pro-Romney FReepers who can post the verbatim transcript of the "three legs to the conservative stool" talk from Rush, cannot post the transcript where "Rush said on his radio show that he voted for Romney in the Florida primary"?
If you show me such a transcript, I will certainly post publicly that I stand corrected.
I expect that you assume he voted for Romney and then state it as fact. You can have your own opinions, but you cannot have your own facts. Remember it.
Socialized Medicine by Romney .... must change subject
Gay Marriage imposed by Romney .... ditto
BIGdig coverup .................... ditto
The two faced nature of Romney .... ditto
FAKE TROOPER (and Chief of Operations)
More here - Romney aide is the focus of probe
Romney aide accused of faking badges
“You are 100% wrong.”
Ok Finny, I stand corrected. As the keeper of that infamous list, Greyfoxx39 surely knows who is not a member.
I would think anyone who is not a member of that infamous religion, mormonism, would be on the other “list”
BTW, you should always add Mitt's motto when you post adoring threads about him.
"It helps when the little people understand you're simply better than they are."
Well, you`d be wrong. I`m not on the “list”. Finny is not on the “list”. You guys are losing support.
LOL, ok.

BC posted to me and mentioned your name...
Once again, you are 100% wrong.
There are more on our ping list than you can see, and there are quite a few supporting our side and posting that aren't even on the ping list.
We don't play the numbers game...and we DO drop folks off the list if they request it...they don't have to formally resign, die, become "excommunicated", or reach the age of 110 to be removed, and if we don't hear from them we don't have an army of researchers seeking them out so that we can send missionaries to their homes to "reactivate" them.
We don't require 10% of their income, either. ;)
Where in twilight zone Florida. Rush never says who he supports in the primary.
