You are wrong. Zero won OH, NC, VA because more suburbanites voted for Obama. There is a soft, overly PC'd, wimpy, politically naive class that blows with the wind...they are the people who elected Obama and the liberal congress.
In reviewing the recent election, one factor for VA/NC that has to be considered adequately is the popularity of their colleges to students from the Northeastern US ... NY/NJ and all of New England.
The Obama machine registered thousands upon thousands of students who are home-based in that region to vote in VA/NC because their votes weren’t needed to tip the scales at home, but they sure were needed in VA/NC. Those states have to tighten up voter registration and voting regulations to prohibit visitors, which is what students are, from voting in their host communities. Frankly, I wouldn’t want conservative students from AL voting here, either. It is really an outrage.
