After nearly six years of war and 4,300 US military deaths, President Obama declared yesterday that combat operations in Iraq will end in 18 months and that most US troops will head home by then - but that the vast majority of the 142,000 troops now on the ground will stay through the end of this year to safeguard Iraq's national elections in December.
The president announced that 35,000 to 50,000 troops will stay in the country as late as Dec. 31, 2011, the full withdrawal deadline set by Iraqi leaders and President George W. Bush, and that Obama pledged to meet. Their mission, Obama said, will be training the Iraqi military and conducting counterinsurgency operations - a plan applauded by some Republicans but derided by some of Obama's allies, who questioned whether he had kept his campaign promises.

The names “change” the NWO stays the same. The Obama/Bush policy.

It’s NOT Obama’s doing! Obama must think we are REALLY stupid. This is all the result of the go-ahead given to our excellent military for the surge and we are right on schedule with everything connected to that plan.
Let’s see what Obama does with Afghanistan.......
(...not holding my breath as I think he will, ultimately, hamper the military)

I know it's been posted many times from different sources but I wanted to make sure everyone that reads this on a Saturday Morning understands Obama did nothing except confirm Bush's previous agreement with Maliki.

hence the word “more” - it wasn’t a dupe, but there are many ‘takes’ on this one...

I saw a poll that said most Americans support the “Obama Plan” but when people were asked about the “Bush Plan”, which was the same, most disapproved.

A sad truth is that “persons” may be positively brilliant, but “people” give new meaning to the concept of “abject stupidity”

I am okay with Obama following the Bush plan of troop withdrawal, and I commend him for it, and for doing what is best in the interest of our Troops. In fact, I would like to thank him.

I have no problem with it but the MSM needs to remember the agreement that was actually signed and give credit to the signatures, not just the “one” with brilliant words.

This is like the boss presenting YOUR idea as his. What a duffus. More like the junior executive slack-off presenting his boss's idea as his own.

Yep. Bush actually signed the agreement but Obama spoke of such elegant words of the agreement.
Just more of the MSM choosing words over substance.

I’m with you. I don’t agree with most of his policies, but I’ll support him here.

the media is picking form over substance, they’re simply picking democrats.
Obama and Bush plan is virtually the same, but OBAMA plan is good, Bush plan is bad according to the media

No one here would dispute that. I don’t want to see any American company collapse, but I’ll make an exception for the MSM.
