Perhaps someone can help me with this question regarding arguments I have with liberal friends. If somebody knows how to perform an abortion that means at some point they sought out to learn how to perform one. Now, my friends have a hard time understanding (and I have a hard time arguing) that besides the few doctors that later on turn against abortion why someone who sought out how to learn how to perform an abortion would not do one for moral reasons.

Or, are people forced to learn how to perform abortions during OBGYN training?

I know how to hunt and fish but gave it up because I no longer wanted to kill them. No big moral crisis, just my own decision. I still target shoot, but do not hunt. Why is it hard to argue someone having a change of heart about something?

Because they will shoot back that this probably only represents a small number of doctors who used to perform abortions. Keep in mind, these are the kind of people who argue that the threat of a pregnancy inducing rape (and not forcing the girl to go through the trama of proving she was raped) is reason enough to keep abortion on demand legal.
