Via Snapped Shot and STACLU comes news that Iowa state officials have banned the use of tea by Tea Party protesters holding an event tomorrow in Cedar Rapids.
The tea violates environmental standards because it will discolor the water:
A Cedar Rapids group will do a symbolic tea dumping into the Cedar River on Saturday because state officials won’t let them use the real thing.
An anti-tax group wanted to pitch in real tea like the Bostonian revolutionaries opposed to England’s tea taxes.
Tea, although natural and quite tasty, is considered a pollutant that can’t go into a body of water without a permit, said Mike Wade, a senior environmental specialist at the DNR’s Manchester field office.
“Discoloration is considered a violation,” Wade said. What would our Founding Fathers say?
Hmmm if they arrest somebody for putting tea in water that would likely generate huge press.

The stout man then turned round and struck the grenadier’s gun at the Captain’s right hand and immediately fell in with his club and knocked his gun away and struck him over the head. The blow came either on the soldier’s cheek or hat.
This stout man held the bayonet with his left hand and twitched it and cried, “Kill the dogs! Knock them over!” This was the general cry. The people then crowded in and, upon that, the grenadier gave a twitch back and relieved his gun, and he up with it and began to pay away on the people. I was then betwixt the officer and this grenadier. I turned to go off. When I had got away about the length of a gun, I turned to look towards the officer, and I heard the word, “Fire!” I thought I heard the report of a gun and, upon hearing the report, I saw the same grenadier swing his gun and immediately he discharged it.

We are the people who not only follow the laws, WE ENFORCE THEM, and we protect this nation. To openly violate the laws, even ones we disagree with, runs counter to what we believe.
And this is how the Lib lunatics use it against us to destroy us.
They OPENLY flaunt laws as they chose, and almost always without fear of penalty for doing so. Just ask Willie Ayres how that works. Until we can get past that in to open civil disobedience, we are just howling at the moon.

I should probably clarify that the discoloration I was thinking about was to RED as in communist, fascist et al.

Wouldn’t they will have to prove that a foodstuff is an environmental pollutant if they arrested anyone for this?
I say go for it, toss the tea in and after you’re arrested, get the lawsuits rolling.
