U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has called on President Barack Obama to veto federal spending bills approved by the U.S. House of Representatives. McCain and other fiscal conservatives, such as Phoenix-area Congressmen John Shadegg and Jeff Flake, fault the spending bills as too large with unnecessary pet projects.
The bill approved by the House that will be brought before the full Senate is 1,123 pages, accompanied by a 1,844-page statement of managers for a whopping 2,967 pages of legislation and contains over 9,000 unnecessary and wasteful earmarks. This bill represents status quo Washington at its worst, said McCain in a statement.

Not that I give a sh*t, but McCain is really embarrassing himself. I have to believe the clear headed Arizonans I once knew have had enough of this geek.

I agree with McCain on this, but he’s speaking to the wind and should have stood up on the senate and said this last September before he voted YES on TARP... but in case he has had a recent epiphamy he should have taken lindsay Graham by the ear and told him to deep six his own huge ear mark in the $410 spending bill passed yesterday.

There is nothing that John McLame can do to earn back any of the respect I once had for him (time served in Vietnam, and as a POW) because he's been a piss poor excuse for a conservative, or even a Republican for that matter.
All of his current grand standing, is nothing more than a feeble attempt to become relevant to the Republican party since he lost the Election to Obama.
Make no mistake folks, McLame is all about himself: and as for his upholding traditional American values, that ends whenever it's in his better interest.
Fool me once; shame on you.

I must defend McCain on this one. He has not taken on earmark/porkulus podcution for Arizona.
He may not vote the way people want him to, but on this issue he is a non participant.

The biggest mistake republicans are making is to try to pretend that the democrats are doing something that Obama disapproves of. They are in lockstep. The republicans are going to lose if they do not start attacking Obama. If they try to pin all the blame on the democrat congress, they have lost the argument.
