The Senate Intelligence Committee is preparing to launch an investigation of the CIA's detention and interrogation programs under President Bush, setting the stage for a sweeping examination of some of most secretive and controversial operations in recent agency history.
The probe is aimed at uncovering new information on the origins of the programs as well as scrutinizing how they were executed -- from the conditions at clandestine CIA prison sites to the interrogation regimens used to break Al Qaeda prisoners, according to Senate aides familiar with the inquiry plans.

"The 'fact-finding' effort will seek details on secret prisons and interrogation methods -- but will not aim to determine if CIA officials broke laws, legislative sources say."

The only thing Bush did wrong was to fail to rein in the politicized, leaking CIA. They have it all backwards. In a normal world, Valerie Plame’s husband, the NYT, Congress, and members of the State and CIA would be in the dock for treasonous actions.

Problem is the committee will release information if it is damaging to the previous administration and/or secret methods and practices that the general public doesn't need to know, much less the enemy.
It also gives a forum for LEAKS and BOGUS information released by the MSM from anonymous sources!!
A political witch hunt with the tragic effect of costing lives in the long run!
The Democrats are pathetic!

I can’t argue that. But it’s not as if they can do any damage to the previous administration. It amounts to name calling, which is what they whine every time we bring up Jimmah Carter’s CRA of 1977 and our current financial meltdown. But I forget myself, Irresponsibility is a Democrat’s JOB.

“The ‘fact-finding’ effort”
Is to see if there are any secrets they can leak to our enemies that might be useful to them. In exchange for campaign funds, of course. Congress - public enemy number one.
