I feel that by them being there, they are getting real world lessons in how people think, and they won’t be shocked when they get into the real world and people are so different than them.

I mean no offense... But, I'm always amused when people assume homeschooled children aren't "in the real world" and that they don't come across people different from them. I'm sure you already know that homeschoolers are everywhere - in sports, etc. But, also, these days, at least where I live, there are many leftist-progressives homeschooling, and, as homeschoolers, we always had a hard time avoiding them. We couldn't escape them. Everywhere we turned, there they were again. :-( We finally stopped joining homeschool groups altogether. ;-)

Ah, that came out as offensive, and I meant it in another way. I know they are in the real world, I know, I did it for a while myself, and if I had it to do over again, I would have homeschooled from the get go.

That being said, the wider exposure on a daily basis to the kids I am speaking about is in the public schools. My kids behave as sandpaper in this group. While I totally respect homeschoolers and I reiterate the fact I would do it again in hindsight, from the beginning, you helped me make my point when you stated that you stopped joining the groups that are full of leftist progressives. I know they are unpleasant, but removing differening points of view does not help them to be able to sharpen their skills against these people, and to help reach inside a liberals brain and squash their arguments. In pulling so many conservative voices out of the schools, the only ones left are now running it. Because of that the infiltration of the schools became possible.

It feels as though what happened to the Republican party is what happened to the schools. We removed ourselves and our children because we didn’t like what was going on and didn’t fight instead. Now we do it to our own party, and we have divided our party and weakened it as well. I still teach my children at home through discussion, example, and constantly checking their school materials for error. I regret less and less putting them back in public schools now that they are older because of their impact, however, I would not want to put young ones in because the indoctrination they would face would be very hard to counter today. God bless you for homeschooling and raising soldiers in this difficult world! And always remember, we are all marching to the same end, even if we take different paths, we are raising Christian Patriots who are our last best hope for the future.
